Early Week Lineup Help

Recommended Posts

I have some tough matchup decisions for this upcoming week since I think I have a pretty good lineup but potential starters are tough to call. Any input is greatly appreciated and I will respond to links left.

QB

- Eli @ PHI or McNair v. OAK (I plan on sticking with Eli)

RB

- LJ @ DEN (starting for sure)

- W. Parker @ JAX, F. Taylor v. PIT, or M. Bell v. KC (gut says stick with Willie)

WR

- L. Fitzgerald @ SEA

- D. Driver @ NO

- Other options are R. Smith v. KC or E. Wilford v. PIT

TE

- D. Clark v. HOU or T. Heap v. OAK

Thanks for the help. You can see my other options below in my signature.

I like McNair at home

I would go with Willie Parker until he has given you a reason to bench him. He looked solid against Miami's D.....

Driver and Fitzgerald are no brainers although I will be rooting for Fitzgerald to not catch a single pass as I sit in the stands at the HAWKS home opener!

Heap for sure to double dip with McNair starting for you

Thanks for the post.

Stick with your original lineup, it still looks sharp.

Manning has both great pass/running options. Sure Tiki might get alot of carries, but he will still find Burress and Shockey in the Endzone.

JAC's defense wasn't as impressive as I thought it would be. Willie should have a few breakthroughs.

Driver vs. NO....This is Favres best chance for redemption.

McNair v. OAK (OAK does not appear to have an offense)

LJ @ DEN (starting for sure)

W. Parker @ JAX (He looked great, stick with him)

L. Fitzgerald @ SEA

D. Driver @ NO

T. Heap v. OAK(OAK does not appear to have an offense)

I would start McNair, LJ, FWP, Fitzy, Driver, Heap. I like McNair at home against OAK, and Eli against the Eagles is a tougher matchup.

Thanks for mine.

QB: McNair - tough call here, but he has such a good matchup, and Philly has a good D, so Eli may have a bit more trouble this week

RB: LJ and FWP - LJ is automatic. With Roethlisberger making his first start this week, Pittsburgh will want to rely even more on the run than they already do (just like last week with Batch). Then they can ease Big Ben back into the mix a bit more gradually.

WR: Fitz and Driver - gotta stay with Fitz every week, especially after Warner's performance week 1. Driver and Smith both have favorable matchups, so it's almost a tossup, but I'd go with Driver just because Favre has no one else to throw to...no offence to Koren Robinson

TE: Heap - should probably start for you every week unless hurt or on a bye week

Thanks for checking mine.

Obviously the most contentious spot on your roster is McNair or Eli. Based on what I saw this week, both are going to be quality starters all year. McNair has proven himself over his career, so with those two I would play matchups until one of them clearly distinguishes themself. This week, you have to go with McNair vs. Oakland simply because they will have the ball so much. I don't like Eli vs. Philly, especially with how good both Tiki and Jacobs looked last week. I'm playing McNair over Bledsoe this week, and even though Eli is clearly better than McNair, I'd go with the cagy vet.

Agree, the issue is your QB spot. My reaction would be to go with McNair. I think that I speak for a lot of people that McNair's performance against a Tampa D was impressive, putting it mildly. Also, as previously stated, remember how P. Rivers tore up the Oakland D? Granted, Baltimore will run, run and run, which would make me place a wager that Heap will be open in the Red Zone for a easy touchdown with all the focus on the running game. Thus, my advice is take the chance on a double up with Heap.

Eli will be away at a hostel, tough, divisional rival as opposed to McNair being away at a non-divisional (no adjectives used) opponent? Role the dice with McNair.
