Texansfan 0 Posted September 20, 2006 OK, so is this guy legit or is this just a hot start? You can pretty much throw that first game out the window playing the Texans b/c anyone can light them up. But then he had a solid game against the Giants who have a decent defense. With McNabb throwing to him I don't see any reason why he couldn't keep it up, especially considering how often the Eagles throw. You can point to how he was inconsitent in NO, but now we see it was b/c Aaron Brooks really sucks! Another good thing is he's playing for a contract and to stay in Phily, which should keep him motivated big time! Schedule wise it's smooth sailing until the last month of the season when they play ALL 3 division rivals in a row ON THE ROAD. Whoever scheduled that must not be an Eagles fan! So what do you guys think?
DaWeffa 0 Posted September 20, 2006 he is legit.....start him every week...did you see hoe many times mcd threw to him??!??!
Polecat 0 Posted September 20, 2006 Eagles homer here. I obviously can't get inside his head but since he arrived he has said all of the right things concerning his time in N.O. and by all accounts has really worked above and beyond to catch up and learn the offense. My impression is that he's grown up a little bit and is gonna take advantage of a pretty great opportunity to be a number one receiver and get big contract in the process. Texansfan 0 Posted September 20, 2006 Would you guys rather have Stallworth or Plaxico Burress?
Polecat 0 Posted September 20, 2006 I actually have both and it would be hard to decide who I'd keep or trade. Burress is more of a known quantity, although i feel he's never quite reached his full potential (I think this will be the year that's why I drafted him). Stallworth has more upside. The Eagles throw like crazy, he is talented and apparently has gained McNabb's trust. The only receiver McNabb ever trusted before was TO and you saw what happened there. If your thinking of trading one keep in mind that Westbrook's health will play a large role in the effectiveness of the whole Eagles offense.
omarkal 0 Posted September 20, 2006 Hmmm, not sure if i should start the WR with the most points in the entire NFL Fantasy points that is, Stallworth has the most in my league.
Patsfan39 0 Posted September 20, 2006 Mcnabb didn't throw to him that much against the giants. I feel stallworth will be good this year but he won't keep up this pace. I see 80 rec 1000 yards 6-7 td's
Polecat 0 Posted September 20, 2006 I think 80 receptions is about right but based on his speed and career ypr I think he'll get closer to 1200 yds. 9-10 TDs is very realistic based on McNabbs play and the way the Eagles throw the ball. Patsfan39, are you in keeper league? You've got quite a few 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round choices in your lineup.
16 and 33 0 Posted September 20, 2006 Mcnabb didn't throw to him that much against the giants. I feel stallworth will be good this year but he won't keep up this pace. I see 80 rec 1000 yards 6-7 td's OK, so in your opinion he will average 50-55 yards over the last 14 games, and score a grand total of 4-5 TDs. Hey do you mind if bump this in December. Better yet, how about every time he posts 100 yards and/or a TD. Yeah, that would get old after about the 10th time. McNabb v. Brooks Phi v. N.O. #1 v. #2 etc Real deal, start him without a thought every week.
Texansfan 0 Posted September 20, 2006 My problem is somebody offered my Stallworth for Plax straight up. I'm tempted to do it b/c McNabb's "go to" WR is golden. Meanwhile Plax is sharing with Toomer, Shockey, & Tiki. Last year Stallworth had 70 / 940 / 7 on a HORRIBLE Saints team with a pathetic QB. Burress had 76 / 1214 / 7 and is in the same exact situation. TOs first year with Philly (in 14 games) 77 / 1200 / 14 Give Stallworth 16 games on pass happy team with a Pro Bowl QB. How can he not improve his numbers drastically? I could see 90-100 / 1400 / 12-14 easily.

I see 80 rec 1000 yards 6-7 td's i dunno how many times mcnabb targeted stallworth against the giants but he has targeted him 20 times in 2 games. thats plenty IMO. yea, he probably wont keep up a pace of 1td and 100 yrds per game but he should definitely do more than what you think. why would you think that he gets only 750-800 more yrds and 4-5 more tds in the next 14 games? doesnt make much sense to me. stallworth could be money this year. So what do you guys think? I think he is legit but I would not count on him remaining the #1 WR overall. He will cool off some. He was barely covered by Houston. The safety totally blew his coverage and left him wide open on his long TD. Early in the Giants game Sam Madison was singled up on him early when he caught a 30yd pass then the 20yd TD with one play inbetween. Madison looked very old and slow. The way he is tearing up teams early I'd expect some more double coverage rolled his way.

Yet he was the #1 WR from wire to wire...
Saintbourbon 0 Posted September 20, 2006 I'm a Saints homer and Donte fan, and he's on my team. Definately love his numbers . . . But am concerned about longevity . . .every time he had a deep reception his 1st 2 years, he pulled his hammy and was out . . . for lots of games. He tried going to some yoga guru a couple of years ago, but he got hurt after that too. Dude is too fast for his short leg muscles, I guess. Hope he stays healthy, and I'm riding the wave for now

Funny, I think I remember people saying the same exact things about Steve Smith last year. Yet he was the #1 WR from wire to wire... Which kind of goes to this too.....Smith WAS the only Panthers receiving option last year. Just like Muhammad was the year before and put up the same numbers. Eagles spread the ball around to much I think. As I said should be very good but won't keep up this pace.
shadow2k 0 Posted September 20, 2006 Funny, I think I remember people saying the same exact things about Steve Smith last year. Yet he was the #1 WR from wire to wire... Smith was right around 90/1100/7 in 2003, and one of the top 2nd half receivers that year. It's not like people didn't know about him...it's that some people forgot about him (or didn't think he could come back and be 100% last year). The problem with Stallworth is that if you don't have him, you're trading for a guy who's value is about as high as it could be. The #1 receiver in your league. Toomer is #1 in my league...that should tell you something right there. Toomer Stallworth Cotchery Coles Burress Harrison Driver R.Williams DBennett Colston Those are the top 10 in my league after two weeks. TWO WEEKS. Stallworth is in a very good situation right now. Good QB, team that likes to pass a lot, and the #1 option. But...I wouldn't be trading for him right now, that's for sure. I'd much rather go after players who people would be down on. You know...buy low, sell high. When you trade for a guy at his peak (#1 reciever), you're not getting value in most cases, and he only has one place to go from there...down.
