Take Chambers OFF every "must start" list

Recommended Posts

Now, maybe the "experts" will take him off their must-start and no-brainer lists. If he and 'pepper can't do anything in consec weeks against the Titans and Texans, forget 'em both. I waived Chambers after the Titans game, despite the next matchup with Houston  . Now he turns in a whopping 3 recepts for 28 yds and a TD :( . Goodbye, Chris ... and good riddance.

That touchdown at the end of the game sure made him look fine, from a fantasy perspective, but I'll admit that I'm disappointed in his production thus far.

The only plus I've taken from his first four games of the year is that Culpepper locks on him when he needs a big play. That means plenty of red zone looks.

I could sure use a 100 yard game from him, though.

Waive Chambers?!?!?!?!?! Are you high?

As a fantasy player he's going to be fine. Better than fine. He has 2 TD's after 4 games. It's not huge but he's going to get better. He started slow last year too and look what he did. Miami sucks in real life but Chmabers will be fine for the fantasy world.

Chambers was grossly overhyped leading into drafts this year simply because he had a stretch of about 5 games when he blew up late last season. Many people, however, forgot how putrid he was during the first half of last season when he had something like 30 catches through the first 8 games.

I wasn't gonna touch him as anything more than a #3 WR this year, and so far I've been proven correct. That entire Miami team is awful, and good for 'em, 'cause I don't like that pompous-ass Nick Saban.

C-Pep has managed top reduce Chambers fantasy value to a #4WR. :wall:

I had hoped that Chambers would have enough talent and ability to perhaps overcome the presence of Dante and remain a viable starter, its just a shame to see his numbers where they are, he is so much better than that. :bandana:

I waived Chambers after the Titans game..

A very apropos first post, rocket scientist.. Chambers is always up-and-down for fantasy. He is always over-rated. I picked him up with my first ww pickup last year (he actually went undrafted) and my trading him BEFORE he blew up was one of my few mistakes that cost me a shot at the pot last year (went out in a semis loss).

I bought into the Saban/CPepp hype this preseason enough to snag him for decent value in my auction draft and obviously, the MIA debacle is scaring all of his owners.. With my TD heavy league, i doubt i'll deal him.. whether it's with CPepp or Harrington, he'll start to score more -- and i'll never get decent value back for him right now. If they start to throw at all, you can't be scared off by the presence or Wes Welker, Marty Booker & Randy McMichael. Chambers will eventually put a decent td string together.

My RB's are okay (Portis, Maroney, Dillon. T.Jones/Benson), but i don't have depth there and at backup QB (Vick) to deal him to the RB starved owners in my league.

The only thing that I hold out hope for is (and I can't believe I'm saying this) Harrington.

Harrington is not a bad QB. At this point, he's a better option in Miami at this point. Truth be told, Culpepper's not ready. He's a statue with bad mechanics at this point.

With Harrington, at least the offense can move the pocket and get something else going on.

At this point and time, Pepper's gotta :D . Miami's bad and they need something else at this point.

Chris Chambers should be the least of your concerns. For any of you guys to place him on the waiver wire, or to trade him is being silly right now. Chris Chambers has always started off his season slow. He did the same thing last year, before exploding in the 2nd half of the season. Plus..keep in mind that he was able to do that last year catching passes from Gus Ferotte and Sage Rosenfels..

I just made a trade for him. I sent another owner Troy Williamson and Kellen Winslow Jr. for Chambers. Now I get to put him in a WR lineup that already consists of Larry Fitzgerald, Andre Johnson, Greg Jennings, and Doug Gabriel..

WRONG. The Fish look flat out awful. It would be different if a great receiver is undperforming but still has a QB or other facets of the offense performing just fine. NOPE. The offensive line stinks, and though he is able to put up 10 or so FF points on a weekly basis, RBrown aint' exactly scaring anyone especially after taken in the top 10. I dropped McMichael in a heartbeat cuz he ain't doing much of anything and is feeling the effects of a puzzled Daunte. Hell Tennessee's Scaife (their #3) is outperforming him.

Daunte is the XFactor and it's painful watching this guy play because it's pretty obvious he's nowhere close to being healed. The MOSS/CULP equation worked because Daunte had the ability to scramble, giving Moss time to develop and make the plays.

So much can change from week to week in the NFL. The Dolphins and Chambers could easily turn things around, just like last year. Not saying it will happen, but dropping Chambers (esp. after last week like the OP said) is stupid. Maybe if you play in an eight team league and you can pick up Colston still.

if i played in a 6 team league, i might waive him too, but for those of us who play real fantasy football, he has scored just fine so far. not great, but definitely worth a spot on anyone's roster.

Gentlemen, gentlemen, cool your jets. The issue is NOT whether to waive him. I'll admit that's at best hasty and impulsive, and possibly stupid. As you correctly surmise, I do NOT play in a "real FF league", there must be an oxymoron there somewhere <_< . My small, family league has Driver, Berrian, A.Bryant and Colston sitting on the WW today.

The real point of this post is take Chambers OFF the "must play" lists. In a league with points for recptns, yardage and TDs, he ranks somewhere around 30th in WRs (after facing the Titans and the Texans, unbelievable). Even in a 12-team "real FF league", he's way down the list on most rosters. He belongs on the "wait and see", "show me something", "bye week desperation", or MAYBE the "good matchup" list, although it will be tough to find better matchups than the last two.

Just curious, but who did you get for him? When all is said and done let's see who has the better season. Personally, I would not drop him for any of the receivers on my leagues waiver wire.

hotgumbo, maybe you should lay off the spicy food for awhile -- seems it's effecting your common sense for the worse.

cpepp sucks or he's struggling or he's in jail for murdering his neighbor's wife, blah..blah..blah..

you never waive or drop a chip that's worth something.. i could shop chambers right now and while not getting anything near what his adp would dictate in value.. i'd still get mucho interest.

in addition: could the 'phins be playing any worse right now? meanwhile chambers still has a couple td's and if you actually research more than the NFL.com box score.. you'd find out that he's had two td's called back due to penalties.

i could go on and on with reasons to not drop a #1 WR unless maybe he was on the Titans. If your point is that he's disappointing.. or he's not gonna score more than 7-8 tds and put up, say 750 yards.. yeah, okay.

i dropped CPepp last week, so you're preaching to the choir.. but Chambers is still seriously valuable.

The Dolphins have no one 'cept Brown & Chambers.. if the team's going down the tubes it's the RB who's gonna kill you -- not the garbage time recipient.. the #1 WR.

I was offerred Thomas Jones for Chambers. Would you do it? I've got TO, Cotchery, Coles, Colston, and Furrey as replacements. My RB's are Alexander, Gore, C. Taylor, and Westbrook.

That is a tough call, but I think your RBs are already pretty stout. Alexander won't be out for too long and the others are good. TO is injured and although he played reasonably well, Chambers still scored as many points in my league as TO did this week. Coles is definitely banged up and likely out for at least a few weeks, so I think I would be patient and hold onto Chambers.

Zing! See what i'm sayin'.. Mr. Foley is an allegedly peodophilically-inclined, disgraced former U.S. Congressman (and long time NAMBLA subscriber)..

Don't let them bother ya.. so long as you don't transmit any photos to the site, you should be okay.

Bro-- that deal would make you worse

My bad. I'm sitting on Driver, Terry Glenn, Williamson, and Colston.

I'd roll week to week with Driver/Glenn/Colston, with Williamson and Jones as backups.

Lewis ain't gonna do d!ck this year, and Chambers looks to be shackled with Pepper. I'm rolling the dice in the hopes that Cadillac can turn it around.

Anyhow, I rescinded the deal after finding out about Matt Jones' injuries. Besides, I can get more out of the deal.

this is nothing to do about dropping but more of how he will disappoint.

In a league that rewards ppr, 1 pt per 15 yds rec, 6 pt per TD, Chambers is number 25. In a 10 man league, that would result in him being a solid number 3 wideout. For you to drop him is just straight retarded. I'm sure if things keep going the way they are in Miami, Daunte will be sat, and Harrington will actually raise his value back up.

Not that I disagree with this or anything, but the sarcastic guy in me has to say, "Just look at what Harrington did for the value of all the Lions wide receivers."

Hahaha...amateur.

He outproduced Randy Moss and Anquan Boldin and hasn't had as bad a week as CJ had last week.

fyi: happy Chris Chambers owner here - I traded for him between week 3 and week 4 -- I traded away Antonio Bryant and Kurt Warner for Chris Chambers and Jake Delhomme.

And he had a monster 2nd half last season with Gus Frerotte throwing him the ball -- Frerotte threw many passes at Chambers that were not even catchable and the guy was still the #1 overall fantasy points wide receiver for the last 1/2 of just last season. Kid has got serious skills and whoever is throwing him the ball will make him productive enough to have as your #3 with upside of a #1.
