Blitzen 0 Posted May 15, 2007 I'm just going to assume Ottawa wins game 3 tonight and in dominating fashion, that way I can in no way be disappointed You're like the Kreskin of hockey prognosticators.

OD99 0 Posted May 15, 2007 4 tickets in 305 for game 6. Free hotel 2 miles from the arena. Class is done by then. Hopefully we're up 3-2 and wrapping it up Hey, if you don't want to waste a free hotel room you might be right on time to catch game 3 of the Stanley Cup finals... GO SENS GO!! GO SENS GO!!! All this talk of Emery not being as good as Miller seems a little crazy now, doesn't it? He has a better GA, a better Save % and now leads the LEAGUE in playoff shutouts with 3... I am partial to the Sens but I don't think anyone can say the Sens aren't clearly the better team - no excuses, the Sabres are being outclassed right now. YAAAAAAHHH BBBBAAAABBBYYYYY!!!! The Bank was super loud last night and the atmosphere was great - I can't wait to be there tomorrow night again and watch the Alfie accept the conference trophy. The Bank was super loud last night and the atmosphere was great - I can't wait to be there tomorrow night again and watch the Alfie accept the conference trophy. Emery is better than last season, but he's nowhere close to Miller's level. Did you see him last night? He was the only player to show up. I actually like Emery. He's kinda crazy, but seems like a good guy. I watched him play a lot with Binghamton. But really, he's not on Ryan Miller's level. Lets really be honest, the Sens have it all clicking right now and they have a great defense. The Sabres had 15 shots, and none were any good. Most goalies would have had a shut out last night. It had nothing to do with Emery. All I can say about my trip to Ottawa, is that if by some miracle they get it to that point, they are winning the series and the Cup. But it won't get that far. While I agree that the Sens have outclassed the Sabress this series, I have to disagree with your Emery point. You swap Emery and Miller and the score last night would have been 8-0 Ottawa, not 1-0. And no, I'm not a Sabres fan.
OD99 0 Posted May 16, 2007 Fair enough - I was a little excited but I do think that Miller is better than Emery right now. That said, Emery has made some big saves this series and Miller really only shone in game 3. I expect the Sabres to throw everything at the Sens tonight but I also expect it to backfire and the Sens will score on some odd-man rushes. Getting to the bank by 5ish for some pregame pops! GO SENS!!!

thePIMPmaster 0 Posted May 17, 2007 Sens were still the better team, but the Sabres pulled it out. Miller looked fantastic again, Emery was shakey. I can't believe that guy beat us 3 straight. Still comfortable lead for the Sens, but if Buffalo wins Saturday, I'd be a little uneasy if I were a Sens fan.

Still comfortable lead for the Sens, but if Buffalo wins Saturday, I'd be a little uneasy if I were a Sens fan. As much as I would like to call the first one a softy Roy made an incredible tip...two games in a row that a Sabre was alone in front of Emery within 10 seconds...the only real soft one was the one Drury scored to make it 3-0...came back to haunt us. The last 8 minutes or so of the second, when the Sens had all the pressure and scored two goals was INSANE at the bank - I have been to most playoff games there and it was the loudest I have heard it. If the period was another 5 minutes longer it could have been 4-3 Sens... That said, the Sabres came out and started the third period off the right way - clearing the zone, taking icings if they had to...the Sens missed (and Miller saved) some great opportunities during the back to back power plays. It was disappointing as a fan to not see the Sens win a Conference Championship at home but IMO they showed for the last half of that game that they are playing better hockey right now. OD99 0 Posted May 17, 2007 No momentum shift - the Sabres were outplayed in the second half of that game and they can't win 4 in a row against the Sens. Even Miller can't save them all! GO SENS GO!!!

pt_mck 7 Posted May 19, 2007 Do they have to lose one of those two? With the salary cap it would be difficult to keep both, both will likely be $6,000,000+ each Tampa kept St Louis, Lecavalier and Brad Richards at $7M each and they have no depth beyond those

BMoney 0 Posted May 19, 2007 Ah ok. That was an exciting game but ended on a lame note. i beg to differ the season series was won after the big hit on drury and ensuing brawl...ironic that drury was hurt in his final game as a sabre... it wouldve been sort of interesting to see hasek vs the sabres...but i can live without that..... so much for ryan miller being a big time goalie..he clearly isnt there yet... pt_mck 7 Posted May 19, 2007 Ah ok. That was an exciting game but ended on a lame note. Now you know how the sens felt last year and in previous years. Last years sabres=sens series virtually mirrored this series Sens won the pesidents trophy last year but were disorganized in the playoffs and lost to the Sabres in 3 OT games in the series. Sound familiar?
Blitzen 0 Posted May 19, 2007 so much for ryan miller being a big time goalie..he clearly isnt there yet... Did you actually watch the game? The guy saved it for the Sabres on numerous occasions.

That's what I mean (except for the Miller comment). Both teams played very well and it was a passionate struggle but the very last play...after a fantastic save and some other pretty good ones, what got by Miller (and the others) in the end left me thinking I think he's really good, and he must feel bad about that, there just wasn't much resistance to that puck. Anti-climatical.

The guy saved it for the Sabres on numerous occasions. of course i did....go tommy preissing big goalies need to make the big save and he didnt... he didnt in the ahl finals that he lost to milwaukee or for the usa in any international play.... hes a top goalie in the 2nd level of nhl goalies, right there with lundqvist....but hes not as good as he is hyped to be... yet...maybe he gets there...but hes not there yet.... fair to say? or would miller be victorious if he had TP clearing pucks out of the zone for him?.... OD99 0 Posted May 20, 2007 YAAAAA BAAAAABBYYYYY!!!!! Sens looked great again - unlike last season the Sens are clearly the better of the two teams and the Spezza, Alfie, Heater line is sick - I haven't seen a line dominate like this in years - maybe not since Lemieux and the boys? Ottawa fans came out in droves too - downtown, Elgin Street (our "Red Mile") and the airport to see the boys get back to O-Town. With all this team has been through over the years it feels great to have them pull through. Kudos to Alfie, sweet redemption for him to be sure.

The Moose 0 Posted May 20, 2007 so much for ryan miller being a big time goalie..he clearly isnt there yet... Miller's save in the 3rd was by far the best save of the entire playoffs this year. I don't blame him one bit for letting in the OT goal. There were three Buffalo players within reach of the puck and Alfredsson still had enough time to get a good shot off. Sabres weren't going to their bench depth much, so most of those guys were completely drained by OT.
