Packaging Crumpler & Plummer to trade for QB (Updated)

I just traded Crumpler, Plummer and I had to throw in Morton Anderson all for Phillip Rivers.

 

How'd I do?

 

 

 

 

 

 

Based on advise from some of you folks I am packaging Crumpler with Plummer to upgrade my QB situation. After floating the offer by some owners and looking for teams that may bite, I have come up with the following possible options. Who do you guys like and in what order?

 

D. Brees

P. Rivers

M. Leinart

B. leftwich

I like Rivers, and I think hes way under the radar right now.

 

Everyone else you might have to pay a premium

I would rate them:

 

1. Rivers

2. Brees

3. Leftwhich

4. Leinart

 

IMO, Rivers is definitely the best of the 4, but I dont think there is a lot of difference b/t 2 and 3 - Leinart has had a good 2 games, but he is still a rookie - all 4 are an upgrade over Plummer

Not sure if someone will bite on Plummer... I picked him up last week to go against Oak and he wasnt that great...

I would rank them:

I'd be surprised if you could get Brees for that trade, it wouldn't go in my league. If you're willing to gamble, I'd go with Rivers because he has great weapons with LT and Gates. Leinart too has amazing receivers. Both of the young guys are under the radar so you should be able to get them cheap.

However, any would be a good addition it just matters who else these owners have. If one has a stud they start everyweek and then 1 of these QBs I would go after that one otherwise they might want more.

I say leftwich. he has an easy schedule and will be consistent. I think he is attainable with those two guys. He still have houston twice and plays the titan, NE, Indy

Agree w/jbogli...as far as ranking them I agree w/the way you had them listed:

The only thing w/Leftwich is that DelRio loves to run the ball, so that game against the Skins, I wouldn't expect a 300 yd outing from him too often. But he is a def upgrade to your current QB situation

3. Brees---great qb but has a brutal schedule coming up

4. Leinart--give him time, he'll amke noise come FF playoff time

I haven't done much research into their schedules and that would play a big part in the decision but based on talent level, this is my ranking.

Talent I go with

Brees, Rivers, Leinart and then Leftwich

I would try Rivers first. If rejected, go for Leftwhich.

Totally agree w/ packaging those guys together as they have little or no value in my league. Plummer is free agent.

 

My ranking:

 

1. Brees

2. Rivers

3. Leftwich

4. Leinart

 

Rivers has the weapons, Brees has the skills. Too bad Brees is no longer in SD. They would be untouchable.

I would say:

 

D. Brees

M. Leinart

B. Leftwich

P. Rivers

 

I think Leinart or Leftwich are fairly even. Brees is really working defenses - while he does have a bye and a tough schedule coming up, after Bal that could translate to more passing if the run gets stuffed. Phi was suposed to be a tough game too and he pretty much blew them away. I really don't trust Schottenheimer and the passing game, he could shut it down any week.

I didn't read the first part well. I think that given that you only had Frye and Plummer, and KW at te, I think you really upgraded your team. Getting rid of Plummer and coming out with Rivers while also giving up a te you wouldn't play and a kicker is a real bonus. Good trade.
