US sending another Aircraft carrier to persian Gulf

Recommended Posts

It takes a couple of weeks to get there, but damn what fire power its bringing along with it. Anyone know how many ships are involved in an aircraft carrier fleet (war ready)? I'm guessing 30-40. Keep testing us IRAN, your time is running out! Testing short range missles for the next 3 days, saying Israel should be wipped off the map. Bye Bye!

I would be astonished if we did anything to Iran at this time. :ninja:

I do have a great many thoughts on the topic. Having served in the arena during war time, and investigated the historical perspecives, I find the region fascinating.

Perhaps the best book on the region is "A Peace to end all Peace".......great book.

There has never been peace in this part of the world since the beginning of time. I will look for this book right after I finish Michael Crichton's "State of Fear". What type of book is it? Fiction/non, historical? I'll get it anyway. :ninja:

Non-Fiction.

Fantastic book, details how the post WWI actions of the allies more or less created the issues of today.

Up next... an escalation in Iran and Syria.

WWIII just a lil bit closer.

If we limit our objective to destroying Iranian uranium enrichment facilities -and when thats done to get the fock out- I'm all aboard.

I think this deployment is only for playing mind games, high stakes, but mind games nonetheless. A classic show of force to both the Iranians, but also to the Saudis and the Gulf Emirates. The Clerics in Teheran are getting a wee bit tired of crazyman's antics. The Iranian public is too, so why not push some buttons with a carrier group offshore? Works for me.
