I ate fried spam last night

Recommended Posts

(yeah, I can't wait for the ingenious quote manipulation on this one.)

Anyway, it was a total memory thing. My Dad, My Uncle Bill and I used to go fishing at least once-twice a month back in the day. Dad would fry up some spam and make sammiches for lunch later.

I couldn't stand spam. Last night, that's all I wanted. Fried spam with ketchup and Miller lite (their beer) from a can.

Uncle Bill died last week. I guess it was my way to bring back some of the old memories.

Funny, the sammich didn't taste that bad.

Last week all I wanted was corned beef hash, which is what we used to always carry in our pockets when I was active duty. I bought some, and it wasn't the same when it was heated. It didn't have the same feel as just popping the can and using a spoon to eat it. Tasted better cold with some hot sauce.

Sorry for your loss wiff..

It was a good time for him to go. He was ready too. Just brought back memories.

Funny you should mention CBH. That's what Dad would cook for bfast everytime we went fishing. (Yeah, so between the Spam and CBH, we got our recommended monthly allowance of suspect meat and fat). Love me some CBH. My fave bfast food. But I've never eaten it cold. Just may have to try that. :dunno:
