football_scooter 0 Posted March 7, 2007 Thurman Thomas & Barry Sanders at Oklahoma State - I know, not NFL Larry Csonka & Eugene "Mercury" Morris is probably the best tandem the NFL has seen, IMO.

football_scooter 0 Posted March 7, 2007 While I don't think they were the best ever, one has to respect the talent of Priest Holmes/Larry Johnson. even with that goofy 2 series/1 series thing, they were incredibly productive - one with speed to the edge and a TD machine, the other pure power - both with good vision, hands and shiftiness. That's a hell of a backfield - if Holmes hadn't tweaked his spine they could have each finished with 1000+ and 15-20 TDs. Seriously.

football_scooter 0 Posted March 8, 2007 Did Bo ever have a 1000 yard season? Or excel in any catagory? Why ask me? I was referring to the OSU backfield, dummy. My NFL contribution was Mercury Morris & Larry Csonka. Thurman Thomas & Barry Sanders - best EVAH at any level!!!!! And it's not even close.
Boston 0 Posted March 8, 2007 Paul Hornung/Jim Taylor Bingo. Two Hall-of-Famers that not only played together but did so during their prime. This backfield could do it all and was a big part of a ton of championship teams.
JScott 20 Posted March 8, 2007 Bingo. Two Hall-of-Famers that not only played together but did so during their prime. This backfield could do it all and was a big part of a ton of championship teams. Didn't Morris/Czonka go undefeated and win back to back SB, they're still my pick. Bo/Allen could have been the best, but I think those that are voting for them are voting on potential in Bo's case. If Bo has a full NFL career then I would agree, but seeing how short it was with no real records to his name I can't vote for that backfield.
