TAS 2 Posted April 5, 2007 Whn did easter become gift giving, instead of the coloring of eggs, egg hunt, and candy?
randandy 0 Posted April 5, 2007 Whn did easter become gift giving, instead of the coloring of eggs, egg hunt, and candy? i agree, its really not an easter gift, more of a seasonal gift. but it might be from the easter bunny because of the timing. or it might be from mom and dad because, who the heck is the easter bunny? why give him all the credit? Cool with me. Our daughters b-day is on April 7, so she we are kinda doing the b-day/easter thing on the same day. So we'll be doing the gift giving as well. I can't remember ever getting a gift on easter other then a boat load of candy.

wiffleball 4,790 Posted April 5, 2007 Every year forever, my aunt and uncle would host a brunch at their house. Everybody would bring stuff and there would be TONS of people - family, friends, friend's families, families' friends, - you freaking name it. It would pretty much go on all day and into the night - with varying shifts of people coming and going. We'd have like 3 different easter egg hunts for the various ages of kids. Was a blast just seeing them runnning around. ...I won't be there this year. Really wish I could. Would be great to see my folks. Would be great to see everybody. Damn. sawilson 1 Posted April 6, 2007 In years past, I always did the holidays, including Easter at my ex's relatives house. Not this year. I am SOOOO excited to be doing Easter brunch at my house this year. I LOVE this type of thing, not to mention my sister and her husband (and my mom if I can convince her) are driving up from Oregon to do Easter here. Today I am taking most of the day off of work to go shopping for all the grub and to clean my house from top to bottom. Its supposed to be like 75 and sunny here so I will open all my curtains, blast the radio and get jiggy with it while I clean. Tomorrow, I get my son from his fathers so we will color Easter eggs and I will start some of the cooking. Then when my family gets here maybe we'll watch some movies and play some board games or something. Sunday I will wake up early, get my son's Easter basket ready for him (I bought him a HUGE one this year with a basketball, football and soccer ball with some other items including candy in it), then start cooking until everyone wakes up. Then its off to church, get back, continue cooking and do an Easter egg hunt, then have brunch followed probably with more Easter egg hunting. I am SOO excited for Easter this year! sawilson 1 Posted April 6, 2007 Sounds nice, saw! Hope you guys have a fabulous weekend! What are your plans BEG? And have you decided where to use your tickets to? I would definitely suggest Sea, although if you wait and do a full fledged vaca, let me know, maybe we can make it a girls vaca!
