kilroy69 1,248 Posted May 17, 2007 It may only be one start but damn its about time. Manager Jim Leyland said Wednesday that Andrew Miller will be called up to start Friday in place of Jeremy Bonderman (finger). Leyland said Miller will remain in the rotation until Bonderman returns, although that may only involve him making one start. "I’m excited," Miller said. "Making my first start is definitely a thrill. I’ve always been a starting pitcher. My goal has always been to get to the big leagues to start games." swamp dog 0 Posted May 17, 2007 the tigs definitely can crank them out, eh? pretty impressive: they haven't had rogers all season, zum's out for 3 months, and now bonderman's missed a couple of starts because of blisters...and they're in first place and one of the top teams in baseball. gotta love it

cgod 0 Posted May 17, 2007 I know Durbin has pitched better as of late but any chance they dump him from t he rotation if Miller impresses?
yostevo 0 Posted May 17, 2007 I know Durbin has pitched better as of late but any chance they dump him from t he rotation if Miller impresses? Durbin would have to fall flat on his face because he's been effective enough to give the Tigers at least a 50/50 chance of winning his starts which isn't too bad for your #5 starter. If/when Miller makes the team, it will be straight out of a training camp as a solidified starter. I think he's still too green to rely on him.
