gocolts 300 Posted June 7, 2007 These bad azzess will take care of them I give you the cicada killers. I catch them in my backyard and then release them for fun. Some of them are huge and look down right scarey.
Rusty Syringes 479 Posted June 7, 2007 The females have holes down at the tips of their tails. In elementary school, we could find them hanging out on the street under the light near the bus stop. We'd take pine needles, shove them into the holes and then watch them try to fly down the street. They'd be like 6 inches off the ground, and they'd wipe out when they landed. They probably would have prefered a cicada killer over that kind of thing.

dcOne 2 Posted June 7, 2007 This is the 17th year in the Chicago area. They are not in my neighborhood but some guys at work say they are all over the place in their neighborhood. They are loud as hell. Interesting. That is what prompted me to post this. I was talking on the phone today with a guy from Chicago. He said something about "Secada" and I'm like "Huh? What are those." He proceeded to tell me about them, then said listen to this. He walked outside, and I could hear the focking things through the phone. I never heard of them until today. So then, I googled it, and found it was "cicada"....
