1968 was one of those years:

 

Tet Offensive in Vietnam, the beginning of mainstream opposition to that war.

Mi Lai Massacre

Martin Luther King assassinated

LBJ signed The Civil Rights Act

Robert Kennedy Assassinated

Democratic National Convention in Chicago

Olympics in Mexico City with the "Black Pride" movement

Bob Gibson has the single greates year ever for a pitcher 1.12 ERA, Gibson pitched 13 shutouts in '68, and Ihe had 11 games in which he allowed just one run

 

It was a brutal year in American history.

Wow, in 1968 my mama was in HS and my daddy was in VietNam.
