p.man 7 Posted June 8, 2007 Mets were trailing 2-0 to the Phillies. With 2 outs....Carlos Delgado hit a solo Hr. Than D.Wright hits a ball that just goes over the wall, but it hits this yellow padding that is only a foot or so away and bounces back on the field. Anyway, D.Wright stopped at 3rd while the replay clearly showed the ball being a Hr. The umps met to talk it over and after a moment or two give the hr to D.Wright. C.Manuel than came out to argue and was ejected. But he sure did get his point accross. You should have seen him. As he was almost in the dugout he came back to home plate and you could read his lips as he was saying he was going to protest the game. It was his 15th time being thrown out of a game. So after around 5 minutes or so P.LoDuca stepped in and he hit a Hr too. It was back to back to back hr's. We go to the 9th. Still 3-2 Mets.
p.man 7 Posted June 8, 2007 P.Burrell just hit a game tying hr. He is a true Met killer. That was his 37th Hr against the Mets. WOW! 10th inning now. Phills take the lead 5-3. The Braves lost again...Them losing has been saving the Mets division lead.

Trip McNeely 0 Posted June 8, 2007 Too bad he blows against any other team. As a Phillies fan, Pat the Bat has been nothing short of a huge disappointment throughout his career
JetsFan28 0 Posted June 8, 2007 Now we get to listen to all the pathetic Met fans call up Mike and the Mad Dog and rip Willie Randolph and the rest of the team while the Yanks take a back seat as they seemed to have gotten their act together. Gonna be a good day. Unfortunately, the A's couldn't make my day even better.

Gonna be a good day. Unfortunately, the A's couldn't make my day even better. As a Mets fan I wouldn't rip Willie. What would the reason be? He brought in Wagner with 2 outs in the top of the 8th to face Howard. Wagner eventually ended the inning. The Mets took the lead into the 9th. Wagner gave up a hr that tied the game. That is not Willies fault at all. He had his closer in the game and it just didn't work out tonight. Not W.Randolph's fault at all.

He had his closer in the game and it just didn't work out tonight. Not W.Randolph's fault at all. I actually didn't watch the game, as I was out at the time, but I heard he brought him in in the 8th. However, I'm not blaming Willie so much as I'm saying that the Met fans will call up finding a way to blame Willie. Today, there was a caller who wanted to trade Heilman and Milledge for Oswalt and Berkman. Obviously it's just one caller, but I know we're going to have to hear about how this was Willie's fault. Regardless, Willie makes many questionable calls and actually may have cost the Mets the game last night (should have pulled Heilman). As a Yankee fan with an obnoxious Met fan of a father, I love to watch the Mets lose. Especially when the Met fans feel as if they are now the "varsity." Welcome to Detroit and LA boys. p.man 7 Posted June 8, 2007 They do have a tough stretch coming up with series against the Tigers, Yankees and Dodgers. I for one do not put any blaim on Willie. Varsity? Not quite there yet. But we are on our way. Omar drafted 6 pitchers today. I heard they are big/tall pitchers. I'll have to find out.

p.man 7 Posted June 8, 2007 You don't think the Mets are getting better? The Yankees are always going to be above everyone else. Meaning...Because of their history and how much they are hated, noone can come close. Even with all that history you can't deny that NY has always been a National league town. Meaning...Because of their history and how much they are hated, noone can come close. Even with all that history you can't deny that NY has always been a National league town. Obviously they're getting better, but how can you tell me that they're "on their way" to becoming the varsity of NY? It'll take about 2 championships before that happens. I don't understand how you can say that it's a National league town. It's always been a Yankee town and it still is. It takes a little bit longer than a couple of good seasons to see a change in the city.
p.man 7 Posted June 8, 2007 I've always heard baseball in NY refered to as a National League town. Mike Francesa even say's it on occation. I could care less about the Varsity stuff. That doesn't faze me one bit. It's all about now. The Mets are getting better and that is all that matters to me. I'm not a Yankees hater, but I'm a Mets fan first.
