Dont matter, your Cal State Fullerton Titans are College Baseballs New England Patriots and although this is not their best team by far, will find a way to get the job done

About the only thing I miss about Starkville is the Left field Lounge.

Anyone know the schedule?

I don't think it is out yet because there is one more game to be played in the Super Regionals.

But it runs from the 15th to the 25th

there is a very good article about MSU baseball including the LFL written by a Clemson writer on the front page of espn.com right now.

Ah...who can resist the allure of the College World Series? The ping of an aluminum bat...All Star players who couldn't land a starting position on the worst AAA club even if they purchased the parent team...without even looking at the rankings knowing that Texas, TCU and Arizona State are in the mix...a complete absence of schools north of the Mason-Dixon Line...every bit as relevant, entertaining and tuned in on television as the Frozen Four...

Ok, I'll step off. NCAA baseball has contributed some quality MLB players, including the best pitcher of our generation. But like hockey, the professional minor leagues are more exciting to watch and college football/basketball teams serve as their amateur leagues. Bless their hearts and hail the legions of fans; but there's nothing about NCAA baseball to enthrall me.

The first game, an 8-5 Mississippi State victory, was played before an announced crowd of 12,620. That set a record for any NCAA super regional. By itself, it was more than the combined attendance on the same day at North Carolina, Louisville and Rice (total: 11,992).

That says it all.

That says it all.

UNC's Boshamer's stadium only holds 4K people. Each game of the series was sold out in like 10 minutes. There were people clamoring to get tickets, if the stadium had a capacity of 12K it would have been sold out as well.

Last nights game was the last one in the old ballpark as they are tearing it down and building a new state of the art ballpark with much more capacity that should be ready in 09'. Not taking anything away from MSU, but that stat is a reflection of the ballpark more than the support and fervor of the fan base.

Just sayin'

The Tar Heels and Mississippi State will face each other on Friday. I'm not sure what time the game starts.

Friday 6pm central. It looks as if all the games are being televised on ESPN or ESPN2. :wall:

Here is the full bracket: http://www.ncaasports.com/baseball/mens/br...m44/2007/DI_cws

Its a shame they put Rice and UNC on the same side of the bracket. They are the two best teams left, how much sense does that make?

I agree. I guess they don't reseed the CWS and since they were the #2 and #3 seeds they would be on the same side. They'll face each other in the next game. The Heels come back from being down 5 runs to beat Mississippi State. Their bullpen has been impressive the entire season, but especially during the tourney.

The Heels beat Rice on consecutive nights to advance to the CWS finals in a best 2 of 3 format with Oregon State, a rematch of last year.

:dunno: Anteaters, focking anteaters

Right before Oregon State played UC Irvine one of the commentators misspoke and kept calling the anteaters the eaters. He then threw it to commercial and said: "Coming up next, the Eaters and the Beavers". I nearly choked. :dunno:
