BLS 314 Posted August 6, 2007 First off, anybody who watched that debate knows Romney blew chunks today. 2nd, anybody who watched the debate clearly noticed that Ron Paul had the most applause of all the candidates. Go on....keep firing away..keep towing that line my man. The Iowa straw poll is this weekend. I'll find out if what I believe is shared by as many people as I think it is....and you and I will be having a little discussion. But that's a week away...so I'll just keep my mouth shut about it until it's over.
Chronic Husker 85 Posted August 6, 2007 Good Lord. Hillary has to be licking her chops. The Mormon will certainly won't draw out the Christian base come election day if he makes it. Neither will the pro-choice guy with divorce and an inability to say anything not 9/11 related. McCain's campaign has been a disaster and though I like the guy best of the bunch, he's probably done. The only chance I give him is based on the fact he's been through this crap before and the others haven't. The wild card is obviously Paul, though I don't really see it. The longer he sticks around and slams Iraq, the more Republican infighting there will be. The others should all be out of the race within two or three primaries. Months ago, it was said that many top conservatives were already resigned to the fact that Hillary will be the next president and every day that passes I'm convinced they were correct. wiffleball 4,790 Posted August 6, 2007 That's rich. Ron Paul doesn't look so hot NOW, does he? ETA: Didn't see the debate, did Romney really do better than Giuliani? If you didn't see the debate, you should at least read the article: Crowd-pleasing anti-war answers on Iraq will pump up web traffic and donations once again, lending him added significance in the nomination process. His tone was perhaps more academic than that of his opponents, but he remains undaunted by his long shot status. If the Republicans nominated a candidate based on who most moved the applause meter, Paul would be giving his acceptance speech next summer.

Explain to me how one of these guys beats her in a general election. Hillary will clean up with the libs that voted for Kerry and Gore. Plus, she'll draw a big women's vote. The GOP candidates are all too polarizing within their own party. If you don't understand that, I can't help you.

Dude, he is clearly a flip flopper, and acts like nobody should give him a hard time about switching positions because it simply behooves his candidacy. He's a talking doll, bred for this job his whole life, and everybody can see through it...except you, obviously. He got ZERO applause yesterday.

Chronic Husker 85 Posted August 6, 2007 husker, will you vote for her to be your president if she's the candidate they put forth? If she goes against McCain, probably not. But I'd take her over the clowns the GOP is putting forward. I'm highly disappointed Hagel isn't in this race. The GOP is doing her job for her by roundly burying Obama on his foreign policy ideas. Remember triangulation? It's once again rearing it's ugly head and the GOP candidates are too big of dumbasses to even notice.

I think it will be hard to predict how the women vote if it is Hitlery. Your probably right, a lot of women will vote for her simply because she is a woman. Nothing else will matter to them. On the other had, there are plenty of women who think of Hitlery as a dorrmat. Clinton seems to have a made a name for himself as a womanizer, cheating on her through out most of the marriage is his image, so I wouldn't be surprised either way. gocolts 300 Posted August 6, 2007 Everybody but Paul....I agree totally. "Oooooh...you should be SCARED....we're the ONLY ones who can save you!!" So who is right, the Republipukes or the Demoncrats???? The Republipukes say they can keep us safe, and somehow Bush has managed to do this with our Borders WIDE open for terrorists to flood in by the thousands. The Demoncrats tell us constantly that the WHOLE world hates us cause of G Dubya's foreign policies. He has created many many more terrorist. On one hand the D's say everyone in the world hates us because of what we are doing and have been doing for the last several years, but then they say there is nothing to be fear?????? Which is it?? How are the Ds explaining this. I haven't seen it addressed yet. I probably just missed it.

Giuliani and Romney and maybe Thompson will be fighting this one out. If Hillary takes the Dem nomination (which I'm sure she will), it'll be a cakewalk for our guy. She's just too hated, even by some libtards.
