redtodd 7 Posted August 6, 2007 I hate the main bored. It is full of ding dongs. I was just curious what my pals on the Geek Bored thought of Brandon Jacobs and how he will do this year. I have a chance to trade for him in my keeper league as insurance for Maroney and McGahee. Or I could just keep Tatum Bell or Ahman Green, but I think they both will suck. He'll have a better year than Brandon Jacobs and finish as a top 15 RB
hoytdwow 202 Posted August 6, 2007 I think he'd make a good linebacker
NewbieJr 541 Posted August 6, 2007 I can see Jacobs getting injured- probably a shoulder. He is a uber-agressive runner who actually seeks out players to hit, rather than avoiding them. It is fun to watch, but it's only a matter of time.

surferskin 30 Posted August 6, 2007 not an every down back.
RicemanX 20 Posted August 6, 2007 I liked Jacobs as a goalline back. But watching a few of the Gmen games last year, it didn't look like Jacobs could do anything but goalline. i think he will give you decent #2 RB numbers, but I don't think he'll be better than that. porkbutt 893 Posted August 6, 2007 he'll disappoint. giants are going to suck. can we make this the official non-main bored thread for ff questions. i hate it over there too.
kutulu 1,676 Posted August 6, 2007 I'm a Giants fan and am avoiding NYG players this year, unless the value is extremely high.
Big_Pete 0 Posted August 6, 2007 Don't trade Ahman Green. He'll have a better year than Brandon Jacobs and finish as a top 15 RB agreed I love Jacobs' style, but seriously, you can't run like that every down and not get injured if you are the majority ball carrier (15-20 carries/game), you just can't! If Houston made Ron Dayne look decent, then they will make Ahman Green look like he is 23 again.

BLS 314 Posted August 6, 2007 He might be a risk, but he's fast, has decent moves for a guy his size, and could be an animal this year. I agree he'd have to change the way he runs, because he'll pay in the long run. But he could be a 15TD back this year.
yostevo 0 Posted August 6, 2007 If the Giants are smart enough to use him in medium sized dosages >15 carries and >20 touches in total, I think he could be really effective. Maybe along the lines of Deuce McCallister type #'s with a few more TDs.
TommyGavin 790 Posted August 7, 2007 As a Jints fan I have man love for Brandon Jacobs (but I wouldnt daft him on my FFTeam)
Chronic Husker 85 Posted August 7, 2007 Tough call on the trade. I like all the players mentioned to an extent. Jacobs has the highest long term upside. But Green will be the feature back and one thing Houston has been able to do since their inception is run the ball. He's probably equal the injury risk that Jacobs is. Bell is the player Martz wanted and he paid for him. Kevin Jones will not play the first few weeks, at least. Bell's speedy style might fit into the mad genius' offense like a poor man's Marshall Faulk. Bell could be one of the fantasy surprises this year. I probably go with Green and Bell. Tough call, though.

TimmySmith 2,782 Posted August 7, 2007 Jacobs may be a beast, but he has not had to take the whole load yet. I would stand pat with Bell who has one solid season under his belt and has the opportunity to put up huge numbers in Detroit.
Giants Fan 85 Posted August 7, 2007 I had Tatum Bell last year. Pretty much ... cost me my season. There was a week he fumbled and got benched ... and Mike Bell took over. If Tatum had 40 yards, and no fumbles, I woulda gone to the Superbowl. And ... Brandon Jacobs is a MONSTER! I'd much rather have Jacobs. He's sure to get carries if he is healthy.
