went to the 10 yr class reunion last night

Recommended Posts

it kinda felt like a family reunion, since i had 3 1st cousins that graduated with me that were there and 2 distant cousins :overhead:

even had a 2nd cousin that wasn't there

anybody's class ever do like a day for the kids? Like maybe a fri night out for the adults, then a saturday at the park for the kids? I brought this up to a few friends and they thought it sounded like a good idea. Maybe have a couple booms and balloon guys and face painting and stuff

Our class always talked about having a family day but never did so. The problem was what could we do that would allow everyone the opportunity to go. We did not want to do a theme park due to expense. Going to the lake was an option but many of the folks who gained weight were opposed. It ended up being a cluster fock of trying to find something that appealed to everyone.

We just decided to send out a phone book of classmates attending before the reunion. If people wanted to have their kids meet, they had the option of going out together before or after the reunion.

Yes, our school did a Saturday day for the family. Saturday night was just adults.

So what happens at these reunions? Does everybody get really hammered? I can't imagine it working well without a lot of booze.

My 10th was at a bar. So, yeah. We got hammered. I didn't even know it was a reunion. I was getting hammered at the bar and all these people I knew in high school just started showing up. To think all those fockin losers had lives and got good jobs out of town only to come back to the bar that I hung out in every Saturday night and ruin my good time.

In my experiences, the people who were socially active, athletic, and/or somewhat popular, have a great time, talk to many people, and share great stories of their high school days.

The ones who were dorks, sit by themselves, look around the room and tell their spouses what assmegs everyone was, and leave saying that the stuckup people from high school are still stuckup and proclaim that they'll never waste their time going to another reunion.

Like I always say, high school never ends.

I bet your classmates were really impressed with the fact that you never went anywhere after high school and hang out in the same trashy bar every Saturday night though.

When I went to my 10 yr reunion it was a blast. It was at a nice country club and I and three other buddies who still keep in touch all met up at one guy's house and took a car service there so we could get smashed. Our wives didn't want to go and we figured we'd have more fun on our own anyway (plus we needed them to pick our drunk asses up at our buddy's house at the end of the night.)

I don't think I sat down or stopped to eat anything all night. I was boozing and chatting it up w/all these people who I hadn't seen in years.

The funny thing, though, was that my experience was very different from what Newbie described. Many of the popular girls from HS didn't bother to show up...from what I hear many of them really plumped out. Many of the popular guys from HS didn't show either...from what I hear they have some pretty dead-end jobs/lives.

The highlight, though, had to be when Tony "Potato Head" (I forget his last name) showed up w/one of the hottest women at the party on his arm. Now, a little background, Tony "Potato Head" was not a smart fellow. He wasn't an R-Tard...he was in normal classes, but sometimes you had to wonder. Of course, being that stoopid w/out the social protection of being an official sped meant that he was subject to much taunting. I still remember the day when someone stole the shirt off his back in soccer practice and took it into the bushes to pee on it. Aaaaanyway, we all thought she was a set of hired boobs. However, upon talking to her, she seemed to be the real deal (or she's a helluva actress.)

I think its my destiny to get inappropriately drunk and make an ass of myself at my 10 year reunion.

I didn't attend my 10th.

I had no job, was living alone and I had no future, suicide didn't seem like such a bad option.

Luckily for all you fine people all that has changed :pointstosky:

Suicide probably is your long term answer though. Be sure to get your whole head in front of the shotgun. Thanks.

Had our 20 yr last month. We had about 20 folks over to my parent's house Friday night (couldnt do it at my place because I live 1600 miles away from where I graduated), then a get-together a park mainly for the kids early Saturday afternoon. The main part of the reunion was Saturday night.
