GettnHuge 2 Posted September 8, 2007 Yahoo Sports Sep 7 Granderson went 2-for-4 with his 20th homer of the season in Friday’s 6-1 win over Seattle on Friday making him the sixth player since 1900 with at least 20 home runs, 20 doubles and 20 triples in one season, the Associated Press reports. Recommendation: Granderson joined the 20-20-20 club with Kansas City's George Brett (1979), Willie Mays of the New York Giants (1957), Cleveland's Jeff Heath (1941), St. Louis' Jim Bottomley (1928), and Frank Schulte of the Chicago Cubs (1911). In just his second full season, Granderson leads the majors with 21 triples and has 36 doubles. Granderson also has 19 stolen bases, putting him one away from joining Mays and Schulte as the only players to have 20 in all four categories.
Voltaire 5,315 Posted September 8, 2007 Wow, I wasn't aware of this. Great news, good to see some accolades going his way. Tell us when he gets another stolen base.

Lionsjunkie 1 Posted September 8, 2007 he has quietly become the best centerfielder in baseball. Bingo And Leyland needs to STOP experimenting with Maybin out there. Maybin needs to start in the minors next season and learn how to play LF

Maybin needs to start in the minors next season and learn how to play LF leyland said in the papers the other day that would indeed be the case (maybin in the minors...don't know about where they play him...i still say he's got the tools to be a great right fielder). BMoney 0 Posted September 9, 2007 thats a pretty sweet season he has going on... on a side note..i always knew brett was great....but i had no idea that he had 20 triples in a season....is that right?... maybe my memory of the royals astroturf is a bit fuzzy... Me_2006 14 Posted September 9, 2007 he has quietly become the best centerfielder in baseball. best CF in baseball? I dunno about that. Ichiro is incredible. as is Grady Sizemore. just to name two in the AL. Andruw Jones has always been good in center for the Braves too. Little down this year though. I dont think Granderson has started his career with like 8 straight 200 hit seasons either. He's good, and I love to watch the guy play (even though I'm not a big Tigers fan) because he can turn basically any ball hit to the outfield into a 3 bagger (he's a nice utility on my fantasy team, for sure), but I think it's a little early to say he's the best. He may well be on his way though, if Leyland will just give him the chance.
