WW WR Ranking Thread

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have any thoughts on this ranking of possible WR's for pickup off the waiver wire (they fly off the wire Thursday morning, so this is how I have them ranked). I need the top three especially, as I have three pickups coming up. - Thanks.

1. Curry

2. Brandon Marshall

3. Welker

4. Shaun McDonald

5. Patrick Crayton

6. Kevin Curtis

7. Bobby Engram

8. Amani Toomer

9. Mike Furrey

10. A. Randle El

11. Jacoby Jones

12. James Jones (GB)

13. Arnaz Battle

14. Demetrius Williams

Adding Arnaz Battle to this listing. Anyone have first WW pickups of the season coming up who are considering any other WR's?

Currently I have this at:

1. Curry

2. Marshall or Crayton

3. Crayton or Marshall or Curtis

But as I pick 8th and a few rounds may flow, I could end up selecting through this whole list so the whole order could be important.

A lot to choose from, and I could order this many ways, but here is draft one -

I would drop Randle El (one hit wonder?), and Toomer (Eli hurt),

I like Curry a lot but check his hamstring injury before keeping my order

1. Curry (WR1 on team, but check his hamstring)

2. Brandon Marshall (Hate to bet on rookies, but he has talent and is #2)

3. Mike Furrey (If healthy is #2 on passing team, but loses touches to other 3)

4. Bobby Engram (If Branch got zero, DJ out, will Engram or Burleson be hot, who knows)

5. Kevin Curtis (I trust McNabb will be better, and he is #2 WR on team)

6. Patrick Crayton (how long as #2? - keep eye on Glenns health but upside otherwise)

7. Welker (so many receivers to split with but looks to fit with Brady)

8. Shaun McDonald (so many receivers to split with but fits in Martz system well)

I could see any of these, so go with the passing teams with scheudles that put them behind a lot.

Interesting. I see it way differently.

1) Wes Welker. He will be the most consistent performer by far. Not huge numbers, but a steady 12-20 per week. For a reserve player, I would rather have the consistency than a boom bust players that all the rest of the WRs are.

2) Kevin Curtis. McNabb will get better. Curtis is a great deep threat.

3) Patrick Crayton. Glenn is done. Even if he comes back this year he'll be limited. Crayton will improve every week as he gets comfortable.

4) Ronald Curry. Last week might be the best week he has all year. And the Raiders QB situation will get messy before long.

5) Brandon Marshall. Will have growing pains along with Culter.

The rest I wouldn't even fool with at this point.

Thanks for looking at mine!

Pretty solid rank. I'd say:

Curry

Welker

Marshall

Engram

Curtis

Toomer

McDonald

Don't be too high on McDonald. He's on a pass happy team, but he got looks because Williams was covered by a top corner. When Williams is in the mix more, McDonald will be the 4th option at best.

Thanks for mine.

1. Curry

2. Brandon Marshall

3. Welker

5. Patrick Crayton

6. Kevin Curtis

7. Bobby Engram

8. Amani Toomer

9. Mike Furrey

10. A. Randle El

1. Curry (the Raiders will throw at the end and he's good enough to get the yards)

2. Kevin Curtis (still the #2 in a pass happy offense)

3. Patrick Crayton (Glenn is delaying the decision on his surgery, so Crayton will get a lot more starts)

4. Brandon Marshall (Has good upside, but likely won't be very consistent)

Those are the 4 that are gonna be good pickups. Other than those, Toomer can be good once Eli comes back (might miss a start) and Welker is worth a look.
