I'm here all Season.

Wow, Nostradamus, you predicted the Lions -- a team with 7 winning seasons in 40 years and about 20 wins this decade -- sucking :bandana:

Nice work :headbanger:

I joke, I joke...

Great call :pointstosky:

It is very early in the season ladies. Don't get those panties so much in a bunch over one game. We have 8 teams in the AFC with a combined record of 6-18. Of those teams, two of them are 0-3 and the Chargers and Bengals are 1-2 each. Are we ready to call the season for those 8 teams and 9 if Tennessee loses to the Saints tomorrow night? In the NFC the Rams and Falcons are both bad teams. The rest are still way up in the air. The Lions came out totally flat today and never recovered. They were totally out played by an extremely hungry team that felt their season was over if they started out 0-3. Congrats Eagles. Just remember, you were favored in all 3 games and are still only 1-2. You can celebrate today. Great job.

Of course it does! Just remember, McNabb doesn't get to play the Lions D every week. I think that one should have you concerned.

Yep it was just the Lions. Although I benched Mcnabb for Kitna today.

While all that may be true, isn't the theme of this thread "Detroit 3-0, McNabb is a tool"?

I don't know if you were one of them or not (and I'm too lazy to go back and look), but there can't be two entire pages of idiots saying, 'Detroit 3-0, McNabb is a tool', and then have a bunch of backpeddling when Detroit lays and egg and McNabb tourches them for almost 400 yards and four TDs.

All the jerkoffs who were making the bold predictions should be in here eating crow right now. Today was an all-out asswhoopin'

it was a laugher, no doubt. unfortunately it still only counts for 1 win for philly and 1 loss for detroit.

Lion's got their A$$ kicked this week. Will not be the last time it happens this year, but they are still going to win their share of games compared to the last several years. Most of the "real" lion's fans were quite conservative when predicting how they'd do againt Philly this week. The Lion's D looked horrible, but if I was a Philly fan I wouldn't get too excited. If not for the interception in the endzone at the end of the first half--the Lion's just might have got back into the game. Allowing 500 yards of offense isn't exactly something I'd be bragging about on Monday morning.

I totally realize that the ringleaders of this ridiculous thread were the usual asspipes who are just Eagle-haters, and not Lions fans. That's why I'm not bashing Detroit in my rebuttles. I have no problem with Lions fans, they seem like a good bunch of guys.

It's just always so much fun rubbing it in the face of the idiots here (Mackgee, Captain Googly Goo, ect.). Especially the ones who are are too wimpy to even say who their team is, or worse yet, jump from Dallas to Washington to Tampa Bay, depending on who's doing well that week.

Next time you losers want to pick a game to shoot your moutyhs off about, just hope that it doesn't turn out to ne a 35 point Eagles victory.

PWNED!

As for the Lions fans, I agree with what one of the above posters said. Detroit went into a hornets nest on Snday. The combination of Philly's 0-2 start, coupled with HBO's unfortunate timing in airing McNabb's six-weeks-ago interview, resulted in a backs-against-the-wall mentality by the Eagles and McNabb. They weren't going to be stopped at home, no matter who they were playing. Detroit was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Frankly, I think Detroit is heading in the right direction as a franchise. In the weak NFC, I could see a possible wildcard birth if they straighten out a few things on defense.

Oh, please. That game was well out of hand in the second quarter. McNabb had 330 yards passing at halftime. He could have thrown for 600 if Detroit could have kept up. The fact that is was 35-7 at one point made this a simple case of Detroit gunslinging just to come back.

The record books are full of atrocious yardage amounts posted by losing teams in a blowouts. Catchup ball usually means that defenses aren't in tight coverages.

Most of the yardage was through the air with a huge lead. And I don't know if you have ever heard of guys named Sheppard or Dawkins, but they didn't play in the game.

Not saying the game wasn't out of hand, not saying the Lion's didn't lose badly. What I am saying is that it very well could have been 42-28 at halftime which isn't saying much about Philly's defense. I know "what if", "could've", "would've"---but games always have those moments that seal the deal. I don't think the Lion's could've stopped Philly's O this game regardless, but it could've very well had a closer outcome. Granted McNabb had an unstoppable first half, couldn't the same be said for Kitna?

I don't think it was the case of the Lion's changing their gameplan in the second quarter to beef their offensive stats. I think it was the case of two very good offenses--one bad defense--and a determined Philly team with their backs against the wall with something to prove. I'm not sure that any team in the NFL would've have matched up well against Philly this week--sometimes teams just play great and are going to win big.

Yep, Here to eat my crow today.

The Lions suck (munch, munch)

The Eagles are far superior (munch, munch)

McNabb is the Tool for the job and got it done (munch, munch)

The Lions have absolutely NO DEFENSE.

It is time to look at the other side of the ball = D

A football team cannot live on passing alone...

Lions will get a couple extra wins this year and that will be about it.

Yes, improved on offense but POOR on DEFENSE.

Back to reality, Eating my crow....

Eagles fans pile on here.

Yep. Bizzarro World.

Donovan McNabb is getting ridiculed based on his use of controversial comments as a defense (i.e. excuse) for hs stinky play of late. We are ripping him because instead of being man enough to say, "I have to play better" he says "oh, well people are only saying I'm playing bad because I'm black and we have to play extra good to get props." :shocking:

By somehow suggesting that Lion's fans don't have a right to have a say just because their QB is Jon Kitna, who puts up numbers and keeps a top passing offense moving, you sound foolish.

Kitna is not neccessarily better than McNabb, but....

McNabb is a tool!

Lions easily 3-0.

I won't even comment on the fact of yesterdays' results - however, the interview actually took place way before the season started.

No hiding here.

Serve me up. I like my Crow microwaved with butter and sour cream.

The Lions took one on the chin and McNabb and Westy manned up and laid the lumber.

Good job.

Well that game sucked  But I do expect the Lions to look better than that going forward. Their defense was awful but all of us Lions fans knew that going in to the season. I still see the Lions the same way I did before the game, a team that has a shot at going 8 - 8. The Lions are going in the right direction and I'll continue to cheer them on!

GO LIONS!!!!

I will reserve judgment until we finish up week 5. If Detroit can win 1 of the next 2 games, I give them a good chance at 8-8. If they start off 2-3, then we are truly looking at 6-7 wins best case. Yesterday I believe New England would have had a huge fight on their hands had they come into Philly. I am not saying Philly would have crushed them like they did Detroit, but it would have been a hard fought game for sure. Philly had a huge chip on their shoulder. Remember though, Detroit had almost 500 yards of offense.

Nope can't go that far with ya. Pats would've handed them their hats.

New England actually has corners that can cover. Those long passes would not have happened.

Belichick would've stopped the bleeding after 2 TDs.

my $.02

OK. Then Dallas. Dallas would have been back pedalling big time and they are supposed to be the best in the NFC. I really don't see how you can dispute that. Just look at what they gave up the first couple of weeks.

the long passes for td's yesterday weren't the result of curtis (or whomever) beating the lion corners in a foot race but the result of continued badly blown coverages. if you watch the highlights, there's never a lion in the screen anywhere when the wr catches the ball. i have no idea what in the hell was going on but you can't blow coverage that badly and that consistently even if you did so on purpose.

The Lion fan in me wanted to post a few days ago about the whoopin they would lay on the Eagles. But after years of struggling through the seemingly bipolar Lions organization, I just knew that would come back to haunt me. They always seem to tantalize you by having really good games, or the defense stepping up, or making the playoffs, or having the best RB to play the game in his time. But it is all just a horrendous smokescreen in order to win our hard earned dollars and attention. Perhaps God can help Kitna save the organization from another top 10 WR draft pick. I would be happy if we a pick in the high teens, maybe low 20s.

They are far superior to the Vikes. That may not be saying much, but its a fact. If Kitna had not gone out for half the game against the Vikes, the Lions would have steam rolled them by 3 TDs or more.

As any realist who knows anything about football fully recognizes, without Favre at QB the Packers would be 8-8 at best. He is willing that team to win. He is a true leader and without that leadership, the cheeseheads will be lucky to be 8-8. I think that I am giving them more credit than they deserve (without Favre). Even a die hard Lion's fan can see that. He has been better or as good to your franchise as Bart Starr was. I say better! These guys don't come along very often. My hat is off to Brett.
