Pick 2 RBs - Marion Barber, Cadillac, Derrick Ward

Recommended Posts

OK - very tough call for me this week. I'm 1-1 in this league, but have done pretty good in points.

I had a bad break last week, scoring 123 (2nd highest in league) and losing..

Divisional games start this week, so I need a win. Any help would be appreciated.

We can start 3 RBs in this league, so that is what I'm doing - I wish I could play all 4..

Brian Westbrook is a lock - he's going to start.

I need 2 from this group:

Caddilac Williams - vs. St. Louis

Derrick Ward - @ Washington

Marion Barber - @ Chicago

Obviously Marion Barber has been tearing up the league, but he has a very tough matchup.

Derrick Ward has also been doing very well, so it's hard to sit him.

Caddy had a nice game last week, their offense is moving the ball, and he has a great matchup. He is also getting the goalline carries now, apparent by his two 1yd TDs last week.

I really want to play Marion Barber III, as I know how great he's been running, but I've seen what Chicago has done to Ladanian Tomlinson and Larry Johnson - shut them both down.

So what do you think?

I'd go with Caddy.

I also like Barber, though he has a tough matchup - though I feel if the Cowboys can get near the goaline Barber will reap the benefits.

I am not sold on Ward yet, he has looked good, but the Giants are not and I am not sure if they'll show up.

If it were my team I'd go with Cadillac and Barber.

I think Barber is gonna run HARD and be EFFECTIVE against the Bears. Dont forget, MBIII is also a factor in the passing game. The Cowboys get in the redzone, u know the ball is gonna go to Barber, T.O. or WItten in that order. The Redskins D is much better this year and their linebackers are VERY GOOD and VERY FAST. I dont expect Ward to have a very good game. Id def. go with Barber and Caddy. Barber runs with power and speed, and the Cowboys passing attack is VERY GOOD, so the Bears wont be able to key in on Barber like they did with LJ and LT. The Chargers and Chiefs passing games have been pretty mediocre so far and the Bears were able to take away the run and force them to try and throw the ball. Not gonna be the case against the Cowboys. I also see Grossman turning the ball over atleast twice, and Benson being ineffective. I like the Boys to exploit the Bears D this week. Start Barber and enjoy the show!

Bears fan here and Barber scares me. The Bears barely beat KC and they did an average job at SD. I'd play Barber and flip a coin with Ward and Caddy. Maybe lean to Caddy since maybe Garcia's comfortableness with JG will open it up for Caddy now.

Thanks.. Yeah that's kind of where I'm leaning right now..

I have Westbrook, BarberIII, and Caddy in...

Hopefully McNabb/TO/Heap will carry my team the rest of the way.

Agree with this I think I stick with MBIII even against stout Def (developing in to RB stud)

Then close call between Ward and Caddy, you will probably be ok either way, but would probably lean more towards Caddy.

Definetly go Barber and Caddy. I think Caddy can get at least one td against the Rams and Barber is the goal line threat in Dallas. I think Ward has a tough time against the Skins. Good luck. Please see mine

This is too close.. Everyone has a different opinion.

It's probably a good thing.. I probably can't make a bad choice, but I really need to win..

I would go with Caddy and Barber. Caddy has a good matchup, he didn't get more hurt last week, and they're playing at home. Barber has a tough matchup, but if Dallas can get near the goal line they'll feed him the ball. It might take 3 1/2 quarters of play action to get him in the end zone, but you know they'll go there.

Definitely start Caddy -- He has a favorable matchup against St. Louis

As far as the second one goes...

Its a tough choice. Washington is a better run D than people realize (no TDs to any RBs in the first two games) and have let up 1 yard fewer than Chi on the ground

But based on competition I would be scared to start a RB against Chi. They are much easier to beat through the air and Dal has the weapons to take advantage of that.

I'd go with Ward as your second choice. Slightly better matchup and he will get all the carries while MBIII splits time with JJ.

anyone more from the saturday crew?

I'm still undecided.

Thanks... Leave a link, I do respond.

Henry,

I'd go with Barber and Caddy. I think the Boys will be able to score some against the Bears, and he's a hard, tough runner. Caddy has been good so far and plays the lowly Rams. Thanks for mine.

By the way...you said you are definitely going with Westy, huh. I have him as well, but pulled him from the starting lineup when I heard he was going in for an MRI on the knee. I have some nice options to go to though: Lamont Jordan and Clinton Portis. Right now, I've got Lamont Jordan in for Westy. Henry...you feel confident that Westy will play...and would you pull Jordan for him? Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd go with Cadillac and Ward. I love MBIII, but this is certainly not the week to play him. Chicago's run defense is ridiculously good... they shut down LT and LJ with little trouble so far this season.

Westy is a go.. He practiced full on Friday - I think they were just being careful..

You have a tough call - But I would probably still play Westbrook. Jordan and Portis will both have really nice weeks, but Jordan is banged up too - something with his back, I think.

Anyway, Westbrook has too much upside to sit. He might put up 130+ with a couple scores against the Lions - I really like the matchup.

Thanks for responding.
