What kind of production from Curtis this week?

Recommended Posts

Alot of times these avg players go crazy and then disapear. What do you guys expect out of Curits this week vs. The Giants? Enough to bench Braylan vs. the Ravens?

The thing about WRs is you can't CHASE THEM. Ask Lee Evans owners .... guarantee when they bench him HE WILL GO OFF.

Unfortunately I can't follow my own advice ...

DBranch starts Week1 = 0, Sits bench Week2 = Goes Off

KCurtis starts Week1 and Week2 = minimal pts, Sits bench Week3 = GOES FREAKING OFF

Will I still start KCurtis Week 4??

HELL YEAH, BECAUSE I JUST TOLD YOU I CAN'T FOLLOW MY OWN ADVICE!! ;)

I would go with Curtis over Edwards this week. McNabb has been looking Curtis' way a lot this year and they finally were on the same page last weekend. Also, the Giants had been torched through the air the first two weeks. Look for more of the same this week.

This one is killing me too...especially with the matchup they have this week. At this point he's making it hard to decide who to start.

Steve Smith v Tampa

Roy Williams v Chicago

Donald Driver @ Minny

Kevin Curtis @ NYG

Wes Welker @ Cincy

At this point I wish I could bench 2 RB and start all of them.

(And no, before anybody asks about 4, 6 or 8 team league...it's a 10 teamer. I drafted everyone of those guys except Welker, who I picked up Wk1 after DJ Hackett got hurt. And although I don't think so, it's possible that I play with "focktards" who let me get away with drafting those plus Kitna, Addai, Edge, Lamont Jordan and Antonio Gates)

So

Rd1 - Addai

Rd2 - SSmith

Rd3 - Edge

Rd4 - AGates (insane value)

Rd5 - RWilliams??? insane insane insane

Rd6 - DDriver???????? INSANE I SAID

Rd7-8 - Kitna/LJordan

Pretty close

1.03 Addai (taken over Gore, LJ, Alexander...2nd choice was Parker but I liked the Indy Offense better, then)

2.08 SSmith (2nd WR off the board after Harrison)

3.03 Edge (I had him as borderline top 10 and was targeting him)

4.08 RWilliams (not triple insane, but at least double insane value...huge run on qb in the 3rd drove WR down...6 QB taken in Rnd 3)

5.03 AGates (prolly double insane here too...people trying to play catch up on RB/WR after getting QB drove him here, I almost pooped)

6.08 LJordan (this one gets the triple insane at the moment...lucky here)

7.03 DDriver (injuries scared people way...i figured since I had Smith/Williams already, what the hell, I could wait until he got better)

9.03 JKitna (last starting QB picked out of 10 teams...I had him ranked #5...2nd time I almost pooped on myself)

10.08 KCurtis (gambled he'd put up good #'s in Philly, got laughed at for this one cause nobody else had him ranked)

FWIW 8.08 was Brandon Jackson, my only "miss" thus far out of 10 picks. Better to be lucky than good I guess.

I picked up Curtis after week 1. I suspect McNabb is going back to his pre-TO days. He may spread it around. But he's bee targeting Curtis a lot, even since week 1. I am not so sure Avant or Brown won't go off next; who knows.

I targeted him after watching the 3rd preseason game (I think) and seeing him lock in on Curtis a lot. I think he only had like 3 catches, but it seemed like McNabb looked his was about 10 times. After that I moved him up a few spots. I figured after I left that I had (including Gates as a WR) 4 of the top 13 WR in the league and plus a bargain in Curtis...but damn, didn't realize he was gonna exploded too. Yeah, it's only one week, but I think he way outproduces vs his ADP this year.

I'm in a 12 teamer with similar players..

Steve Smith (3rd round)

Roy Williams (4th round)

Kevin Curtis

Vincent Jackson

It's a very heavy RB league... With 23 of the first 24 players were RB.

We can also start 3 RBs/1 WR or 2RBs/2WRs or 1RB/3WRs

My RBs that I've been starting are Larry Johnson/Brandon Jacobs/Derrick Ward

So I'm thinking that I'm just going to start Derrick Ward with Steve Smith/Roy Williams/Kevin Curtis - with Romo @ QB I think I'll be hard to beat.

The Roy Williams matchup might be a little shaky, but Detroit will HAVE to throw ALOT to win.. Nathan Vasher is supposed to be out, so I think that Detroit will be able to get the ball to Roy.

My WRs and Romo have been carrying me. Now with Curtis emerging, and me being able to start 3 WRs, LJs slow start shouldn't hurt so much. I've still been scoring alot, as I am 2-0-1 even with LJ's pitiful points. So as soon as he starts to roll, I think I'll be tough to beat.

I think all 3 WRs will have nice days.. But even if only 2 have nice days, in a distance scoring league, plus with other solid starters it should be good.

Bears Defensive weakness, if there is one, is against the pass. The generate a lot of pressure on the QB, and Detroits line isn't good, so Kitna will make some mistakes, but I agree, they'll be throwing a ton. I'm still trying to figure out if I'm gonna play him, sitting either Steve Smith or Roy Williams is hard, regardless of matchup.

Add another "too many WRs and not enough RBs" team to the list.

12 teamer and I've got:

Chad Johnson vs NWE

Andre Johnson (out)

Deion Branch vs SFO

Brandon Marshall vs IND

Kevin Curtis vs NYG

I'm going with Branch and CJ obviously, but a little twisted on who to choose between Marshall and Curtis. Marshall has been more consistent...but hard to argue against 200+ yds and a few TDs.

In another league I might bench Roy Williams and go with Curtis (along with Steve Smith and Branch), I'm not sure how I feel about the Chi DEF vs Detroit's offense.

The Ravens haven't been very good against the pass this year.

FWIW, this is somewhat of a misnomer, when people say teams "are weak against the pass." The Ravens, Bears, Steelers, Patriots and Chargers (to an extent) are all weak against the pass BECAUSE they are strong against the run. Teams end up behind and are forced to throw, and in the case of some of them, they have a bit of a lead and relax on Defense a bit. Teams start chunking it all around the field to try and comeback. While they may give up yards, you will find that most of those teams are among the league leaders in overall scoring against their defense. They give up yards, but because their opponent is throwing so much, they usually generate more sacks, and more turnovers.

I wouldn't bench ROY or Steve Smith for Curtis if Curtis had 3 legs and 3 arms, and I have Curtis in 3 of 4 leagues. Play your STUDS. Curtis MAY become a stud, but 1 game doesn't make it so.

Eagle homer and Curtis owner here. Curtis hasn't been a starter for me yet this year but I'm thinking about trading one of my starting WR for a RB after last week. I don't think I'm overreacting. The first 2 weeks McNabb played as badly as he ever has and Curtis' numbers were still respectable. If McNabb is back in form (based on the 4th quarter of Mon night and the Lion's game) then his Curtis' stock skyrockets. I obviously don't expect 200 yds every week but McNabb looks his way all the time and the Eagles are always going to pass the ball. I don't think it's crazy to think he puts up Stallworth type numbers but projected over a full injury free season. If that's the case then he will be a very nice #2 WR.
