dbuofi7 0 Posted October 11, 2007 So I've been offered Frank Gore, Reggie Wayne, and Dwayne Bowe for Ronnie Brown, Laveranues Coles, and Greg Jennings. Of course, this trade doesn't help me this week with Gore and Wayne on a bye. My team: QB: Romo, Culpepper RB: R Brown, Rudi, Julius Jones, C Brown, S Young, L Betts WR: R Williams, L Coles, R Curry, G Jennings, A Davis TE: A Gates His team: QB: Kitna, D Anderson RB: Gore, Benson, Rhodes WR: Wayne, Bowe, H Ward, Curtins, Crayton, Jenkins, A Gonzalez TE: Cooley This is a tough call because I love the way Brown is performing (both rushing and receiving) and I'm worried about Cleo Lemon as the QB (teams stacking the line and let Lemon beat them). Furthermore, my other RB's are iffy (especially with Rudi injured and Henry not going on suspension soon) and I'm doing well (5-0 while he's 3-2). On the other hand, that's a huge upgrade for me at WR. Anyway, give me your thoughts and I'll answer yours.
Beef Ravioli 0 Posted October 11, 2007 Up to this point I don't think I would make the trade, but I also would be a little concerned with the QB situation in Miami and how that might effect Brown. But Green was not exactly tearing it up and Brown was still a stud. I think I would hold onto him and trust the system that Cameron is running. Thanks for mine
idiotec 31 Posted October 11, 2007 I don't know if Brown can keep up his numbers so far, and Gore at least has the potential to significantly improve. If that happens its a pretty significant upgrade with the WR's. Gambling man? Go for it.
mobb_deep 920 Posted October 11, 2007 Yah, that's a tough call. You're not really getting that much of an upgrade at WR. Coles is pretty much money with Pennington throwing him the ball. Bowe is Jennings are pretty much a wash too. Gore has a ton of upside and Alex Smith is coming back soon but it's sort of hard to trade a guy like Brown who's playing like a beast. With the uncertainty on both ends I think I'd pull the trigger. I'd give you some more insight, but you provided me with very little yourself, so.... yah do the trade. joemax_60613 0 Posted October 11, 2007 It's a fair offer, but I wouldn't do this trade. First, I really like Ronnie Brown. I don't think he will continue to put up 20pts a week (!) but he should be fine no matter what happens in that offense - that's the great thing about a back who catches the ball as much as he does. I am much more worried about Gore, because while he is also crazy talented, there is even less support for him and after 61 rec last year he doesn't seem to be part of the passing game this year and certainly can't compare to Ronnie. A big downgrade. WR is where you are supposed to be making your big gains in this trade but I don't quite see it. Sure, Wayne should be better than Lav Coles, but combined with the rest of the deal, I see it as Wayne+Bowe = slight upgrade over Coles+Jennings. Jennings looks like the real deal in GB and as long as he's upright he'll be catching balls while they double DD (oh the humor) and Jones drops balls. Coles is still making GirlieArmington look good by catching everything thrown near him. Indy I think is looking like the Pats passing game with everyone catching balls. Wayne should be great but not great enough to ditch Jennings for Bowe who again has terrible QB issues. It's important how many WRs you start. If you only start 2 (likely) than it is more important to have Wayne and ROY over Lav and ROY. But I like Ronnie enough to negate this upgrade, and if you do start 3 WRs, you really want Jennings. I would thank this owner for a solid trade offer and then sit down and figure out how to upgrade your RB2. Maybe trade Jennings for a back with upside like Rhodes? Or trade with the Henry owner who may be worried? Or if you are ready to part ways with Ronnie, do so for 2 RBs. Thanks for your help.
Bakes99 0 Posted October 11, 2007 Well to start you might be giving yourself a loss this week if you make the deal especially if Rudi doesn't play. You'd be starting JJ/Betts/C Brown. With Browns value where it is now I think you can do better than Gore. SF offense is horrible and Gore is the only player defenses need to worry about. Like a previous poster mentioned if you can swing a 2 RB for Brown deal I'd consider it since I don't feel he can keep up his current pace.
throttlers 0 Posted October 11, 2007 I think it is a pretty fair deal, but I wouldn;t accept. It kills you this week. Brown has been arguably the best back in fantasy so far this year. I think you could get more for him if you want to shop him around. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=295183
cincyredsfan34 0 Posted October 11, 2007 You would upgrade at WR but in my opinion you lose to much at the moment by giving up Brown for Gore. On the pace Gore's on he may end up being a big bust for a guy that went in the top 5 in many drafts and talk about stacking the line Dilfer doesnt scare anybody and neither does Battle or Djax at wr. If Alex Smith does come back he's worse than Dilfer. Cleo is a concern but Brown has been a neast so far and T Green hasnt been exactly tearing it up. I think I'd pass this deal up.
