Who to drop for Crayton?

Recommended Posts

Patrick Crayton has just dropped onto the WW, and I have a chance to pick him up. I think he'll be a solid WR3 the rest of the year, and I could really use him in my lineup. However, I'm trying to decide which player to drop -- either Selvin Young or Marques Colston.

I'm considering Young since I just heard he would be splitting carries with Andre Hall if Henry is out of the lineup, which makes him a lot less valuable. However, Colston has been nothing but a huge bust this year, and even with the Saints playing better lately, he hasn't gotten it going. This is a dynasty league, however, so I have to think about whether Colston will do better next year too.

Here's my team (we start 2 QB's, 2 RB's, and 3 WR's, no flex, no PPR):

QB: McNabb, Rivers, Warner, Garrard

RB: LT, Henry, Jordan, Chatman, Young

WR: TO, Jennings, Walter, Berrian, Colston

TE: Winslow

K: Bironas

DEF: Tennessee

I'm thinking that if I were to drop Young, I can ride Henry out as long as I can, then replace with Jordan or Chatman as my RB2 (whichever is doing better). Meanwhile, I could drop Colston and be OK with starting TO, Jennings, and Crayton regularly (with Walter or Berrian taking some starts with good matchups).

I'm just trying to decide, between Young and Colston, which is least likely to explode and become a stud in a few weeks.

As always, leave links and I'll answer yours. Thanks in advance!

Uhg, this is an ugly choice.

I would ignore the rumors of Young splitting time if Henry is out. If you've watched Young, you know he has a shitton of potential, and Henry is as loose of a cannon as can be.

I'm going out on a limb here, but I may favor dropping Colston :) Brees for some reason really liked going to Patten last game (EDIT: Nm, only 2 recs last game...I will stand by dropping Colston though), and he may become a problem for an already-struggling Colston.

Thanks for mine.

That is a tough one but I think it depends on your other RB's. Is it imperative to hold on to Young? Crayton will be great one week and bad the next. If you can afford the huge ups and downs take Crayton.

I honestly like what you have... Stay put...

Colston you never know with and Glenn they said is starting to run this week. Glenn may be back in a couple of weeks and then Crayton drops back down.

It really depends on what your other RB's are. Thanks for mine

Yeah, it would help if we knew what your depth was at RB and WR.

Without that info, I'd drop Colston. RBs are a lot more valuable. And I think Crayton's situation is a lot more favourable than Colston's, so you'd be better off.

Hope that helps. Now, maybe you can help me out...

No problem. I'll edit my main post with my roster.

id stay where you are. crayton had a bad game last week against a porous pass def. i would wait a week or so to see if he gets better. colston is hitting a stretch of winnable games and could finally put up some decent numbers. young could take over sooner than people think with henry's ribs busted up pretty good.

I'd probably stand pat as well, but maybe drop Garrard as he's out for a few weeks and McNabb and Rivers have had their bye week and Warner should get healthy after the bye.
