parrot 789 Posted June 3, 2008 You know I tried this a few weeks ago in Montana. Uhmmm... wasn't really impressed. Tastes a lot like Corona in my opinion. Much as I hate to say it, agreed. I was thoroughly not impressed. Much better beers to be sampled in Montana.
jerryskids 7,090 Posted June 3, 2008 That is why i don't like playing limit, but, my friend said people there play NL the same way they play limit, it they will not fold no matter what cause they don't care about money. Then they catch a straight or a flush on the river and your focked. However, he said soaring eagle is a great place to play NL, so, i will try it there instead probably. I don't know, i might give NL a shot, it just takes more money and is a huge risk with that extra cash... Limit tourney or cash game? Tourneys are tough to win because they require a lot of luck. Limit cash games are the easiest way to make money because as others have said, lots of people stay in. Just play tight and stay out of the fray, and fold if the cards don't come your way. Limit cash games are the easiest way to make money because as others have said, lots of people stay in. Just play tight and stay out of the fray, and fold if the cards don't come your way. Cash game, a limit tourny would be awful. That is why i don't like limit, cause if you try to buy the pot, you'll get someone who caught a low pair going with you the whole way. However, you need cash to play no limit. Like with 3/6 limit, you can buy in with 80 and be set. In 1/2 NL, you need at least 300 to have a shot at winning some money. So, limit is probably the easiest to make money if you are consistenly getting cards. I always get cards early, usually double or more my money, then slowly but surely drop until i break even. CantTouchThis 23 Posted June 15, 2008 Update... First beer; Guiness DRAUGHT, since they didn't have the draft, wasn't too good. Second; Canadian Molson Much better That was all, because it was Saturday night and they didn't have any limit poker tables. At first i was like "WTF, that is why i came here for" all they had were NL, 1/2, 2/5, and 5/10. After playing some video poker, and getting bored. Also, the fact that the lowest black jack tables they had were 15 minimum, and everything else was much higher than i am use to and i didn't have the $$ to play them, after like 10 minutes, i said "fock it, i came here to play poker, lemme get all my cash and buy in at a 1/2 table". My friend who played here several times before highly recommended me stay away from the NL tables in Winsor for reasons previously mentioned. So, i was a bit relunctant to say the least. So, i stopped drinking, bought in with 160 canadian and sat at a 1/2 NL limit. I cashed out 4 hours later with 1144 dollars American . Far and away the most i ever won, and my dad decided to sit at a NL table too, and he won over 300. Seriously, that is over a month's worth of income for me working full time, it's insane. Honestly, a lot of luck, but, wasn't getting like insanely good cards, just good cards. I knew NL was my game because limit just sucks, you can actually use skill at a NL table. I will definitely be playing NL from now on at the casino.....

CantTouchThis 23 Posted June 16, 2008 A three page thread about what kind of beer you should try and you come up with two fockin' varieties? Live a little, man. Congrats on the winnings though Honestly, i didn't really feel like drinking, i was there to make money and i couldn't have beer clouding my judgement. Plus, Beers were 5.25 a pop, for a 12oz bottole, fock that sh1t. The Canadian molson was good, but, not 5.25 good. However, when i go to college we have 4 days off before classes start, i will be buying a truck load of C.Molson for sure I wouldn't go as far to say it was delicious, but, it is the best beer, far and away, i ever tasted. Now if they can get a beer to taste like Mountain Dew i will be I do wish i would've tried a Labatts, but, i will be going back over there later in the summer, this time with friends so i can do more. Definitely will hit up a strip club or two, i have never seen so many 19-21 y/os in one place before.

supermike80 2,085 Posted June 16, 2008 Guinness kid..... just good ol' sweet nectar of the gods..... Mother's Milk...... Guinness.... Hey... millions of irishman can't be wrong. Cept the Guiness we get here isn't made in Ireland, it's made in Canada. And when they made that switch, the beer was NEVER the same here. It sucks now compared to the old Guiness. I drank it of course, then i had a C.Molson and it was much better.
pimptastic69 0 Posted June 16, 2008 Michelob Golden Draft was the best tasting beer I can remember from my high school days. I don't even know if they still make it. Usually we'd just drink Busch Light or Old Milwaukee Light.
