Panic attacks: Voters unload at GOP rallies

Recommended Posts

It's hilarious to see the Repubs' debilitating fears unfolding right before our eyes. Obscene, baseless attacks and reaching to ridiculous levels have become par for the course. Keep it up, fellas, while the rest of the nation snickers at you.

"Terrorist!” one man screamed Monday at a New Mexico rally after McCain voiced the campaign’s new rhetorical staple aimed at raising doubts about the Illinois senator: “Who is the real Barack Obama?”

"He's a damn liar!” yelled a woman Wednesday in Pennsylvania. "Get him. He's bad for our country."

At both stops, there were cries of, “Nobama,” picking up on a phrase that has appeared on yard signs, T-shirts and bumper stickers.

And Thursday, at a campaign town hall in Wisconsin, one Republican brought the crowd to its feet when he used his turn at the microphone to offer a soliloquy so impassioned it made the network news and earned extended play on Rush Limbaugh’s program.

“I’m mad; I’m really mad!” the voter bellowed. “And what’s going to surprise ya, is it’s not the economy — it’s the socialists taking over our country.” :wall:

After the crowd settled down he was back at it. “When you have an Obama, Pelosi and the rest of the hooligans up there gonna run this country, we gotta have our head examined!”

Activists outside rallies openly talk about Obama as a terrorist, citing his name and purported ties to Islam in the fashion of the viral e-mails that have rocketed around the Internet for over a year now.

Some of this activity is finding its way into the events, too.

On Thursday, as one man in the audience asked a question about Obama’s associations, the crowd erupted in name-calling.

"Obama Osama!" one woman called out.

And twice this week, local officials have warmed up the crowd by railing against “Barack Hussein Obama.”

You really have to see these fockers on film to believe it. I mean, I know we have some dim-bulbs here and some trolls that play at being dim, but to see hundreds of these goobers all lathered up into a rage is - scary.

  • Percentage of these people who believe WWE is real: 100%
  • Percentage of these people who ADORE Nascar: 100%
Percentage of these people REALLY wishing they could find a Klan rally: 100%
  • Percentage of these people who "dine" at Wal-Mart on special occasions: 100%

I mean, wow. Does this tell you a lot about the McCain base or what??

How the hell did Bush get in office then??

It was that appealing "swagger" and the impression that it'd be great fun to share a brew with him.

You know, those very presidential-worthy qualities.

Osama voters keep telling me things like: young, charismatic, and charming.

You know, those very sleazy lawyer..I mean used car salesman...I mean community con-man hustler...oh, I mean very presidential-worthy qualities. :D

I've yet to have any person I know mention any policy of his whatsoever as a reason to support this goof.

One dem friend of mine was arguing about this and I pointed out to him that from what he's told me over the years that none of

his positions are supported by Dems/Osama.

He is completely against: higher taxes, bigger gov't, gov't health care, thinks immigrants should be arrested and sent back, hates free

trade, hates welfare/social programs, wishes we could just nuke Iran, should drill for more oil,

On the other hand he is against the war in Iraq.

me You prefer we put Saddam back in charge?

Him: no way.

me: well there you go, can't have it both ways.

him: Bush sends our jobs overseas with his trade policies!

me: Really? who was it that signed nafta?

him: uhh

me: Clinton, your guy. Who was it giving China most favoured trading status?

him: who?

me: Clinton, your guy. So why are you blaming Bush?

him: well what's important is that Osama is going to keep the jobs in this country! :)

I've been saying it all along...

This isn't the Obama/Biden ticket. It's the Biden/Pelosi ticket. The Democratic Party knows this...put it in the books.

Where do your types come up with such ludicrous statements? Seriously. I guess it's more of that "reaching" that's so customary of your party. Is there some notable link between Obama and Pelosi that we've all overlooked?

Is McCain's running mate actually Joe Lieberman, since they get along and work well together, and because they're both fence sitters?

The Speaker takes the Vice Presidential spot in the case of an assassination. I figured I wouldn't have to be so blunt, but you forced my hand.

Ah, I see. So you expect Biden to be "assassinated," where you would then be correct about the Obama/Pelosi ticket.

Do I understand yet?

 Seriously...ANYONE who disagreed with Bush's Iraq policy would have been labeled a 'terrorist-wubbing traitor." Kerry wasn't a great pick, I'll give you that, but if you think that election would have turned out any other way you're simply kidding yourself.

I don't know whether Obama is ready for the presidency, but I think the man is an uncommonly talented politician. We're talking about a black guy named Barack Hussein Obama with less than 4 years in the Senate, and he beat the Clintons and he's beating a decorated Republican war hero in states like Virginia and Florida. That's got nothing to do with Obama's ability to be president, but when it comes to running a campaign he's a genius.

if you were associated with shady people like Ayers and others, you'd make a fast climb also....its just very dangerous to be voting this guy in....

id have liked to have seen someone besides mccain....but thats not reason enough to vote for the "other" person....obama has bad ties....

No...I expect some crazy to off Obama. In that case, Biden becomes President and Pelosi the Vice President. Biden/Pelosi '08!

On CNN, i just saw a clip of a McCain rally. A woman was on the mic and said something like," i can't trust him, i just can't. He's Arab."

Its funny on two levels. The fact that she can bluntly say she doesn't trust any arabs and the fact that she considers obama arab.

McCain started shaking his head right away and ended up taking the mic from her rather quickly after she said that.

Your tone is what is hilarious, you pompous *[fart head silly monster]. The people you're mocking, the people who keep this country alive, the middle class heartland American who naturally questions a man who could be the next president where the mainstream media has failed to do so. The middle class heartland American has been subordinated to people who think they're superior, CEOs plundering funds to the detriment of shareholders' 401Ks, liberal talking heads who think they know more than you or me just because they're on TV, people who think their voice is the only voice because it just happens to get published and people who feel empowered by the power of those they follow because they are too weak to question their leader. The people you're mocking are frustrated because they are now the modern day second class citizen and the funny thing you fail to realize is that you likely have more in common with the people you mock than the people you follow. *[fart head silly monster].

*my wife made me remove a cuss word to maintain credibility and suggested fart head silly monster.

Obviously . . . you're from Texas. You're a liberal because you either resent being from Texas (in which case you have low self esteem), or you're a transplant and you resent the people you live amongst (in which case you yourself have a superiority complex). Either way, you Sir are no Texan.

Honestly, I think Obama used people like Ayers and Wright to get connected with Chicago politics.

I'm not talking about his ability to govern at all. I'm just saying, from the primary on up he's run a tremendous political campaign.

Sure. Go to Real Clear Politics and look at the national and state-by-state polls. You'll see that Obama is leading nationally by 5+ in every poll and he's ahead in several states that went red in 2004 - Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, Nevada, Colorado, etc. That doesn't mean Obama will make a good president, but it is evidence of his abilities as a politician and the manager of a campaign.

WOW. Before I watched that video, I had no doubt whatsoever that Obama would win this election. McCain doesn't have a chance. No way Obama can lose this.

However, after watching that video, I think McCain may have some outside chance at this. If all of these kinds of people actually vote on election day, McCain could pull this out. These folks seem like the type who would go through what it takes to vote some places. The long lines and sometimes hours of waiting to vote. They seem genuinely scared of the thought of Obama getting in, so they will show up on election day.

The youth vote is notorious for letting down on election day. They always are real into it up until the actual day to vote. I guess they a little cocky or over confident.
