First of all Have you heard or seen alot of trades where the 2nd pick in the draft and a 3rd round pick get traded for a 6th and 8th round pick? I didnt think so. Now to further illustrate my point, you say I am wrong in saying it was a terrible trade,right now it is 37-10 in favor of AD and Housh. So that makes me right up to this point. By the way...The new AD owner won this week by 17 points and the previous AD owner lost by 6 this week, again if the idiot who traded AD wouldnt have, he would have another win. Your original question was, "is this trade brutally one-sided?" The trade is definitely one-sided, but not brutally so. Rivers has a great second-half schedule and White has been legit all year. Housh is always a question mark with the Bengals and (because I live in MN) I know that AD is always at the mercy of the head coach and quarterback play. I'd rather have AD and Housh.

 

I can't believe I had to read 3 pages of comments just to see the point of the conversation. Let's keep it on track. Otherwise, this site is totally worthless.

 

Also, assuming you're right and it is a one-sided trade, what do you plan on doing about it? Has it already been approved?

This was a great post. If this does not convince someone that both team benefit nothing will. Your one problem was trying to introduce factual evidence into an emotional arguement. So this week AD and Housh score 37, Roddy and Rivers score 43. So the tally is 74 to 53 in favor of AD and Housh. On a side note the Buccaneers fell to 0-2 since the trade. They lost 131-129 this week. If he keeps AD, AD and Eli score 55 instead of the 43 Rivers and White scored so he would have won. Hmmmmm I think somebody keeps pulling farther ahead in this argument......NB81

If you are asking an opinion as to which side of a trade that I like then great. We all will have an opinion as to which side we would rather have. And that might vary from person to person. However none of that matters in regards to if the trade should have went through. And in regards to that it doesn't matter if one side scores a thousand points and the other scores ten because no one has a crystal ball and anything could have happened. That is the point that you fail to see.

1st of all this is not a ice cream flavor tasting site, So it's nothing like that.

2nd, Dont people come here all the time to see if people agree or disagree with their opinion? I couldnt beleive/understand why the trade was made. I wanted to see what other people thought about it, pretty much everybody said I was a complete moron for thinking the way I did. well,

 

as commish in another league (hockey) my policy on questionable trades is this:

 

If the deal is questionable, and I ask the two owners to justify the trade.

 

If either person can find reasonable arguement using past stats, present stats, projected future stats, and/or scheduling, I would let the trade pass.

 

in this case, some stats were shown using current stats from this season showing that the deal helps his team even though he unloaded a player you consider to be elite.

 

The real problem with Elite players is that people will overestimate their value or underestimate their value.

 

The true value is in what they can do for you today (unless you are in a keeper/dynasty league where futures count also)

 

While I wouldnt have made this particular deal, I can at least see the logic in why the one owner did this. The fact that I disagree with this logic is irrelevant. All I want to see is that some thought went into the deal and that a person was legitimately trying to improve their team.

 

to me, the evidence presented here is enough (in my opinion) to let the deal pass.

I made a deal last season to acquire Jamal Lewis. people said I overpaid for him by a lot, and there was some talk about veto on my deal. However, when the Commish asked me about it, I showed him the Schedule Lewis had for the last 3 weeks of our season, and all his games were against poor run defenses.

 

I won the pool because of this trade as his performance down the stretch was totally worth the price I paid.

 

so not all is as it appears to be. It's still okay to question these deals, but when sufficient evidence is provided to show it isnt collusion, you need to drop your arguement as it will fall upon deaf ears (as it should)

Maybe I have no clue what I am talking about...but team 1 traded A.D. and Housh for P.Rivers and R.White. Team 1 now starts Ronnie Brown and M.J.D. at rb and Rivers instead of Eli. obviously team 2 is loaded. I think this is a brutally 1 sided trade in team 2 favor, am I wrong for that thinking?
