4:8 Best action character in a film - James Bond

Think he would fit as action character (haven't seen too many Bond films), international recognition, gets Bond women naturally, suave, can fight with muscle but relies mostly on intelligence.

I knew this draft would eventually jump the shark, but I figured we'd at least get through five rounds first.

5.2-Philo Tyler Farnsworth-inventor

The first to succesfully demonstrate the transmission of television signals in 1927. (Patented in 1930) Not a popular choice by inventor standards, but what would we do on Sunday's without him?

Also recently voted one of TIME magazines top 100 greatest scientists/thinkiers in the 20th century.

5.3 Joan of Arc - Famous Woman

Badass female freedom fighter. Helped lead the French army to many victories during the Hundred Year's War. Was cannonized early part of 20th century.

She fits in nicely with the rest of my squad, all of whom could be placed in multiple categories.

Was gonna go with her...now I understand FeelingMN's pain.

Joan of Arc is a good one though.

5.4 Cassius Marcellus Coolidge - Artist

While he had no formal training as an artist his natural aptitude for drawing led him to create cartoons for his local newspaper when in his twenties....In 1903, Coolidge contracted with the advertising firm of Brown & Bigelow of St. Paul, Minnesota, to create sixteen oil paintings of dogs in various human poses.

Nine of them depict dogs playing poker.

Well, now that I have the (what has to be consensus) #1 artist signed to my squad, I don't see how I can lose this thing.

5.9

Poet / Bard / Storyteller - Homer

The blind poet, Homer (900-800? B.C, Asia Minor) began western literature with his 2 great epic poems, THE ILLIAD, and THE ODYSSEY. The Illiad tells an episode in the siege of Troy, while The Odyssey (a sort of sequel) tells of Odysseus's voyage home from the war. Both are bold, dramatic, heroic, and straightforward storytelling with my favorite, The Odyssey, which in my opinion is the best adventure story ever told.

For good measure, I present Symphony X's "The Odyssey" a 24 minutes song (thus three parts on youtube). It's simply amazing. Metal + Symphony =

Best comment from youtube:

If this song were Jesus it would have jumped off the cross and beat the holy hell out of the Roman Army and it wouldnt stop until it stormed the very gates of hell itself!!!

If you've never heard of this band, you're missing out.

I almost went Confucius with my last pick.

And I would have went with Homer with my next pick.

At least I don't have to worry about SUX selecting anyone I'm considering
