Keeper League help

Recommended Posts

The guys I'm looking at keeping are:

RIVERS

MJD

PORTIS

K. SMITH

M. COLSTON

D. BOWE

J. WITTEN

We can only keep a max. of 2 players at each position. Offseason trades are available and I can package the player(s) I don't keep to move up draft position or acquire other players. I'm currently picking 10th in a 12 player league. I've got the feeling many of the teams will be protecting their QB's so I've thought about leaving Rivers off my list and grabbing him back with my first pick at 1.10. What should I do? Who to keep?

I think the easy ones are

MJD

Colston

K Smith

Probably

Rivers

Bowe

It would be nice to know the amount of RB's and WR's you have to start, and whether your league is PPR.

I would go

Rivers

MJD

K Smith

Colston

Witten

I would try to dump portis for a 5th or 6th rounder.

the players I would keep:

At RB: MJD, K Smith--------> Note: This looks like a team built more for the future than the present. Portis is getting to that age where he only likely has one or two more years left, and I dont think keeping him will put you over the top. If you make an offseason trade to put yourself in a better position for this season, you may wish to review this and keep him instead of K Smith. But I dont think this is the right call.

At WR: I'd keep Colston

At QB: I'd keep Rivers.

At TE: I'd keep Witten

I kept witten instead of Bowe because witten will put up 1000 yards receiving, and I expect Bowe will put up around the same (maybe slightly more)

given that there are only maybe one or two TE's in the league capable of doing this, I consider Witten to be of similar value to a WR that can put up 1300+ yards receiving.

you may wish to keep Bowe instead of Colston as he does have a bright future, but that KC Team is going to be weak for at least another year and maybe two.

at least Colston is in a high powered offense and you know he's gonna get his 1200+ yards per year regardless of how the team does.

hope this advice helps you.

I believe it is fairly easy for the top 4. I have them in order of importance:

MJD

Rivers

Portis or K.Smith

Colston

Whitten

1. I would personally lean toward Portis over K.Smith. Portis is a bit older but a proven player. K.Smith has a rookie QB, a suspect Oline and on a DET team that will be behind most games thus having to get away from the running game.

2. I kept Whitten over Bowe since it is a TE required league and you have the #1/#2 TE in the league. I also think Whitten will put up similar numbers to Bowe. Bowe is a guy you could get back in the draft where Whitten will go fast.

3. I would certainly try to trade players and move up in the draft. K.Smith has a ton of value right now and might actually get you a high first round pick.

Whatever you do Rivers/MJD/Portis/Colston/Whitten is as solid of 5 keepers as any in your league.

Good Luck
