Yippie Skippy 0 Posted May 22, 2009 Nice one! You have me there......but Collie is not even close the the same player as Wes Welker. They have different skill sets.Opposite of Welker. Collie is not a slot WR. Collie is the Colts' slot WR. They've already said that they will move Anthony Gonzales back to the outside opposite Wayne. Collie is 6 foot, 200 lbs. His competition at the slot is Roy Hall and Pierre Garcon. I have the 2.4 pick in an upcoming dynasty rookie draft and I am very seriously considering him. He will never be worth a fantasy start, unless you are desalate at WR. He will be Mannings #4 option - and last time I looked Clark played the slot for Indy. madd futher mucker 36 Posted May 22, 2009 Draft updated through 2 1/2 rounds: 1.01 Moreno 1.02 Crabtree 1.03 Wells 1.04 Brown (mine).....no suprises yet! 1.05 Maclin 1.06 Nicks 1.07 McCoy 1.08 Greene 1.09 Robiskie 1.10 Harvin (mine) 1.11 DHB 1.12 Stafford 2.01 Britt 2.02 Peerman 2.03 Sanchez mine but I traded the rights to 2.03 for Willie Parker 2.04 Collie 2.05 Pettigrew 2.06 Dillard 2.07 Andre Brown 2.08 Tate 2.09 Iglesius 2.10 J Davis 2.11 Butler 2.12 Barden 3.01 Scott 3.02 Coffee 3.03 G Johnson 3.04 M Thomas Thrilled to get him here, but I was torn between Thomas (I considered him in round 2 before deciding to trade down) and the big QB Josh Freeman who I think may have more upside than Sanchez. 3.05 Rashad Jennings 3.06 Nelson 3.07 Massaquoi I traded Torry Holt for picks 3.08 and 3.09; I love both of the QBs I selected. 3.08 Freeman (my pick by trade) 3.09 N Davis (my 2nd pick by trade) 3.10 Cook 3.11 P Turner 3.12 Beckum So my draft ended with 6 picks total: 1.04 Donald Brown, 1.10 Percy Harvin, 2.03 pick traded for Fast Willie Parker, and 3.04 Mike Thomas, 3.08 Freeman, 3.09, Davis Now I consider that a hell of a successful draft! Little Big Head 6 Posted May 22, 2009 Sanchez was still on the board at 2.03. I just traded the pick for Willie Parker. So that whole trade worked out like this: I got Peyton, Zack Miller, Matt Jones, (1.10) Percy Harvin, and (2.03) (traded for) Willie Parker for Romo, Tony Gonzalez and Ryan Grant P Manning >Romo Parker = Grant Harvin, Z Miller, Matt Jones >Tony Gonzales I'd say I came out way ahead. I think you lost Romo=Peyton Ill take the younger QB with more overall talent on offense over the old QB that just lost his entire coaching staff. I believe Romo beat Manning in points per game before Romo lost time with his broken finger Grant>Parker Why you would target a RB nearing the end of the road with a young RB and 1st rd talent nipping at his heels i guess i dont understand Tony G=Harvin/ZMiller (m.jones has zero trade value right now)

Grant>Parker Why you would target a RB nearing the end of the road with a young RB and 1st rd talent nipping at his heels i guess i dont understand I got Parker with the 2.03 pick which was a great value - he may not quite equal Grant, but in PPR he's not that far behind. Tony G=Harvin/ZMiller (m.jones has zero trade value right now); No way! Harvin may just be the best WR in this draft and is a potential future stud IMO, Zack Miller is already a top 10 TE, and my bet is that Jones will play and be productive sometime this year - I'll take that "throw-in" to the deal. But only time will tell if you are right or if I am.

I dont think getting Harvin was worth the downgrades, and I am pretty high on Z.Miller. I also think right now is a better time to sell P.Manning than it is to buy him. I just dont see that offense being what it was when Harrison was still on top of his game. If Romo can be as productive as he was with TO in the offense his fantasy value stands a lot to gain. Personally I think M.Austin, M.Bennett, and F.Jones are enough to make up the difference. Its all just my opinion obviously. Like you said, time will tell. Good luck

His trade made great sense and Harvin is 20 years old with all the talent in the world. Great trades!!
madd futher mucker 36 Posted May 23, 2009 The complete 3 rounds. Note my end of draft surprise, where I traded Holt for 3.08 & 3.09, and took the two QBs. That was the icing on the cake! 1.01 Moreno 1.02 Crabtree 1.03 Wells 1.04 Brown (mine).....no suprises yet!1.05 Maclin 1.06 Nicks 1.07 McCoy 1.08 Greene 1.09 Robiskie 1.10 Harvin (mine) 1.11 DHB 1.12 Stafford 2.01 Britt 2.02 Peerman 2.03 Sanchez mine but I traded the rights to 2.03 for Willie Parker 2.04 Collie 2.05 Pettigrew 2.06 Dillard 2.07 Andre Brown 2.08 Tate 2.09 Iglesius 2.10 J Davis 2.11 Butler 2.12 Barden 3.01 Scott 3.02 Coffee 3.03 G Johnson 3.04 M Thomas Thrilled to get him here, but I was torn between Thomas (I considered him in round 2 before deciding to trade down) and the big QB Josh Freeman who I think may have more upside than Sanchez. 3.05 Rashad Jennings 3.06 Nelson 3.07 Massaquoi I traded Torry Holt for picks 3.08 and 3.09; I love both of the QBs I selected. 3.08 Freeman (my pick by trade) 3.09 N Davis (my 2nd pick by trade) 3.10 Cook 3.11 P Turner 3.12 Beckum I'm happy with the outcome - I think i had a great draft. Enoch 1 Posted May 24, 2009 i dont understand why stafford isnt going top 5. honestly, id be fine taking him at 1.01 if there was some demand for him at the top. i mean cmon, hes going to be throwing to calvin johnson.... thats a match made in heaven for fantasy purposes. be patient and stick him on the bench for the first year, then reap the benefits the next few years I like Stafford, but he is still a rookie QB. Having good WRs will help, but it will not make him NFL QB. The only WR I can think of -that did that was Randy Moss in his prime, he made an "OK " QB look good. Matt Leinart had two good WRs and nice #3Wrs and was high ranked QB coming out college. Calvin is great, but this is still Detroit we are talking about Plus you can find a good #2QB in a dynasty league, but RBs are so hard to land
enis_44 0 Posted May 26, 2009 Rb's are indeed hard to find. BUT Taking the #4 Rb in Baltimore over a starting Qb with upside is over-thinking things big time.
Super Cubs 154 Posted May 26, 2009 So what does the new team look like?
madd futher mucker 36 Posted May 26, 2009 Team as purchased mid-March 2009 - My goal was to get more talent and get younger: Romo (29), Hasselbeck (33), Shaun Hill (29) Grant (26), LJ (29), J Jones (27), Washington (26), Hightower (23) Edwards (26), Evans (26), Holt (32), Hardy, S Rice (22) Gonzalez (33), Daniels (26).... (15 total players) picks 1.04, 2.04, 3.04 Team May 26: P Manning (33), Hasselbeck (33), S Hill (29), Freeman (21), N Davis (22) L J (29), J Jones (27), W Parker (28), D Brown (22), Washington (26), Hightower (23) Edwards (26), Evans (28), L Moore (25), Harvin (20), S Rice (22), M Jones (26), M Thomas (21) Witten (27), Z Miller (23) ....(20 total players) (completed roster will be 22 including D/ST and K) (Rookies are in bold) (age in parenth) But I expect a mega-trade will likely happen today or tommorrow.......so stay tuned! BTW: It looks like the litttle 'throw-in' I got in a trade - Matt Jones - just might pay off for me. Per Rotoworld today: The player rep for free agent Matt Jones says the NFL has notified him that Jones will not be suspended for violating a court-mandated drug program last season. The agent says Jones only has to pay a $50,000 fine. If so, Jones should find work quickly. He's easily the best young receiver on the market. "He caught 65 passes in 12 games last year for the Jaguars and he was their No. 1 receiver," agent Dave Butz pointed out. "If he wasn't hurt one game and didn't have the three-game suspension, he may have caught 80 to 90 balls."
