WR Sleepers?

Recommended Posts

I don't mean a 5th stringer who won't ever suit up for me. I mean a guy who you can pencil in who has the potential to get me 15 points or so. Theser guys in particular:

Nicks, Gmen

Burleson, Hawks

Butler, Hawks

Stuckey, Jets

Britt, Tenn

Henderson and Meachem, Saints

Jarrett, Panthers

Miles, Cowboys

Do any of these guys stick out? Convince me why.

PS If you have your own sleeper, let me have it.

Thanks,

TM

From that list I'd take Nicks, and then Austin... others not so much. Don't know your scoring formula, but in my league even the top WRs don't normally score 15+ a week.

Earl the Pearl Bennett is a really nice sleeper.

Played with Cutler in college and I see him becoming the #1 WR by about week 4. Even the other night Cutler looked to him on plays when he needed a catch.

Laurent Robinson of STL is also decent....he is #2 behind Avery but he is quick.

I also like T. Williamson. He could break out this year too.

I picked up Nicks and Bennett myself. Nicks has looked really good and NY has said they don't mind starting him if he plays like he has. He has some decent competition with Hixon, Smith, and Moss, but so far it's looking good.

Bennett is slated as the Bear's #2 receiver (which probably means #4 or 5 target behind Olsen, Forte, Clark, and Hester) but could realistically become their #1 receiver since he only has to best Devin Hester. He's looked good so far, and has the Vanderbilt connection with Cutler.

That being said, still very risky considering Olsen and Forte are probably going to catch a lot of balls, and Bennett hasn't done anything in the past.

Matt Jones.......he will be flying off the WW when he is signed.

Laurent Robinson........He has the skills, and Avery is over rated as a WR1

If one of them could get you 15 points, they wouldn't be sleepers. 100 yards and 1 td woiuld be 16 points in most leagues. Do you know what sleeper means?

Put me down in the Chris Henry camp.

I don't think any of the Cowboy guys are good bets. Too much uncertainty, I read somewhere that they are taking a look at starting a FA rookie ahead of Miles

You have Britt on your board....but me thinks J.Gage is going to be the reliable WR for Tenn & Collins.

Well, this topic is now moot for me.

I just added Reggie Wayne in a trade with a guy who was desperate for a QB (didn't trust Delhomme).

I got Wayne; he got Romo.

I now like my team, and I'm going to add another back up QB off waivers (Flacco, Campbell, or Hill).

I like James Davis as a sleeper. He's a rookie RB playing behind Jamal Lewis. I know Cleveland isn't much, but they are also more likely to give up on their starters earlier than later. I got Davis in the 15th round in my 14 team draft.

My bad...I only saw Sleepers I guess...how about Chaz Shilens? He's injured right now, but if you grab him in the later rounds and keep him a few weeks, he should be back by week 3. He's a big receiver and gets lots of end zone looks. Plus, the Raiders will be throwing a lot being that they will be behind about 90% of the season.

PPR leagues (which many people are going to these day) can give you 15 point WRs much easier.

In my league's scoring system 5 catches 60 yards and a TD would be 15 points and people do have many variations on these so try thinking outside of your own little world next time or just don't respond
