FELIX JONES?

I know everyone has been going crazy over T. Choice, is it that people are hoping to pick up a RB and instantly get huge #'s out of a FA. Felix Jones has been getting 7 carries a game with barber in there. He had 7 carries for 96 yds and a TD and choice had like 2 carries for 8 yards. It just seems unbelievable that they are going to give choice anymore then 60% of the carries when Jones has looked to be the better back. Some people are saying he will get 80% of the carries . Is it that people are hyping him in hopes he will some how save the people who have had no production from (W. Parker, S. Slaton, M Forte & LT) or is it myself that has Tashard undervalued? I see him getting at the most 40% of the workload.

I think everyone just moves up one spot and we can expect the same number of carries. If Choice is the RB3 now, I don't see why they would give him any more than 40% of the carries. I think Felix will fill in great. I'm trying to decide if I drop Pierre Thomas or Fred Jackson for Felix. I dropped Felix last week for Jackson and now I'm having a little buyers remorse. I wasn't planning on Barber getting hurt

I wouldn't drop either of those two unless you want more buyers remorse...and I'm a huge Felix believer having spent 7.5% of my cap space (auction league) on him as my flex option. Thomas is almost back into the best offense running right now after being hurt and Jackson is the Bills offense accounting for over 300 yards rec/run in the first two game. And Barber is only expected to be out for a game or 2 from what they are saying right now. Don't you have someone else you can drop for Felix?

Choice filled in very well when given an opportunity last year, so he has that going for him. Granted there was no MBIII or Felix around to share carries, but it showed Choice was a capable feature back.

 

All preseason long I thought MBIII and Felix would share carries, with MBIII being assigned a particular role and Felix assigned a different role in the offense. I think that's been born out so far.

 

With MBIII hurt....maybe (he says he still might play Monday).....I think Choice substitutes in for Barber with Felix retaining his usual role. It's not like a FF squad where you just mix and match players. Felix has plays designed for him.....Barber for him.....and so on. I think Choice assumes Barber's role in the offense.

 

Now, they may dial plays up for Felix more often than they had the previous two weeks, but I don't think it'll be a drastic shift. I expect a 50/50 split....which would be an increase in Felix's workload but would be a huge increase for Choice....and the reason why so many people are claiming him this week. Though I would probably only feel comfortable starting Felix.....just in case Barber tries playing MNF.

I can only carry 3 RBs. Right now I have DWilliams, P. Thomas, and Fred Jackson. I guess I am doubting myself because of Thomas' injury and the reactivation of Lynch. I know Marion may only be out for a short time, I'm just trying to figure out who has the most upside long term. Right now, I'm not seeing too much of a difference in all three of them. Thanks for your input. Maybe it's best to just stay put.

the dallas line is built to rush the ball best. Huge offensive linemen made for run blocking. did you see choice last year against the steelers, ravens and other tough run defenses? Choice is very talented and he can play. there will be 25-30 carries to share between felix and tashard. worth a roster spot if you are hurting at rb.
