jgcrawfish 232 Posted November 17, 2009 WTF??? 13 carries for Willis @ 2.7 ypc??? I'm hoping they're just saving Rice for tougher foes, but good gawd, just the sheer fact that Rice didn't run longer than 19 yrds, split carries with Willis down the stretch and didn't completely shred the Cleveland D is cause for concern. DamageIncVacc 6 Posted November 17, 2009 They had said earlier in the week that they wanted to give Maghee more carries . They need to take it easy on Rice. But Rice will still be the focal point they are smart to give more carries to willis. It will never be a 50-50 split. more like 65-35 . Dont forget Magahee is a great runner and pass reciever himself.
PsychoBelichickFan 0 Posted November 17, 2009 just when I get a stud Rb guy who is tearing it up......some old rb steals his carries. this better not be for real......I need rice
VinAZ 0 Posted November 17, 2009 Relax...a bunch of the carries were in the 4th Qtr while trying to run out the clock.
Evil Genius 0 Posted November 17, 2009 I believe Rice had 20 or more carries and a couple catches. This is characteristic of a feature back.
FeelingMN 273 Posted November 17, 2009 I'd be more concerned Baltimore looked like absolute ass against Cleveland than McGahee coming in for a few series in the game. What an awful, awful display of football tonight. :puke:
dreadlocks34 0 Posted November 17, 2009 WTF??? 13 carries for Willis @ 2.7 ypc??? Not that anyone actually wanted to watch this, but if you had you would have seen 10 of those carries come in the last 16 minutes and 6 of them being the last 6 plays from scrimmage for Baltimore. Yup. When the game was 16-0 in the last 4 minutes they gave it to Willis to run the clock out. No need having your stud in there to get hurt. Other than that he just spelled Rice several times throughout the game like any other back up running back would do.
gridiron whirlwinds 10 Posted November 17, 2009 Make no mistake about it. Ray Rice is the FEATURE back on the Ravens.

Big Zeke 0 Posted November 17, 2009 Yup. When the game was 16-0 in the last 4 minutes they gave it to Willis to run the clock out. No need having your stud in there to get hurt. Other than that he just spelled Rice several times throughout the game like any other back up running back would do. Exactly! As a Rice owner, I was happy to see him out of the game at the end (especially since I'm also a Turner owner). Let Willis get the garbage time, and since he was so ineffective on those carries he did get, why would anyone be concerned that he is going to eat into Rice's carries when games are on the line? Rice earned the every down back role on this team, and that ain't changing the rest of the season.
deefree93 0 Posted November 17, 2009 Exactly be happy with your 17+ points from Rice and move on. He was the only player who scored an offensive TD in the whole game anyways. You cant expect him to get 30 carries.
9-Route 0 Posted November 17, 2009 no, just a product of the game and opponent
NewbieJr 541 Posted November 17, 2009 Relax. The ravens have a short week coming up. Why run Rice into the ground against the Browns?
jgcrawfish 232 Posted November 17, 2009 sorry for the paranoia, however, i was expecting a bigger output, particularly vs Cleveland. The state of the Ravens offense worries me after last night. I'm also a bit worried about his schedule...the next 3 games don't look promising, nor does the Wk 16 matchup again vs the Steelers. 11 11/22/09 1:00pm IND 12 11/29/09 8:20pm PIT 13 12/07/09 8:30pm @GB 14 12/13/09 1:00pm DET 15 12/20/09 1:00pm CHI 16 12/27/09 1:00pm @PIT 17 01/03/10 4:15pm @OAK I've got Rice on the block. Need a WR upgrade and willing to part with him with that schedule.

I actually like him better in tough match ups.

I actually like him better in tough match ups. GB shut down a potent Dallas rush attack (with some help from the idiot Jason Garrett), Indy ranks in the top half of the league in rush defense more than likely Baltimore will be playing from behind, limiting the effectiveness of Rice (although the kid gets a lot of passing love). Dallas had 11 rushes (off the top of my head) Playing from behind is when Rice gets his points. See Minnesota game.
Kevinv86 1 Posted November 17, 2009 In my ppr league i love when balt is down... then its dump off passes to rice all day.. Just like the Min game when they were down... So balt being down doesn't scare me as a rice owner
