Big_Pete 0 Posted June 5, 2010 Ok, I'm prefacing this with my official stance on Obama as "I didn't vote for him, I prayed he didn't get voted president. I think he's the worst president this country has had in at least my lifetime, and I'm still not sold on the fact that he's American, so he should get the boot, as well as his vice president. Plus, he's running this country into the toilet." Anyways...... I see things on facebook that have quotes from him when it comes to military veterans' health care. He says that because they volunteered for service, they should have known that there were health risks involved, so they should do the patriotic thing and not expect free health care, that way, the extra money can help the country get out of debt. Now, I have no doubts that Obama is about as smart as a bag of dirt, but could he really be that retarded? I'm hoping that it is just rumor and unfounded, but on the other hand, I put nothing past that worthless lump of shit. If it's true, can you post an article? I'm looking at you for this too posty! From Facebook Obama's answer to when he wanted Vets passed and present to pay for their health care. "Look, it's an all volunteer force,"Obama complained."Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice? It doesn't compute.." "I thought these were people who were proud to sacrifice for their country" Obama continued. "I wasn't asking for blood, just money. With the country facing the worst financial crisis in its history, I'd have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to try to help reduce the nation's deficit. I guess I underestimated the selfishness of some of my fellow Americans."
crackattack 520 Posted June 5, 2010 As a ex-military man myself, I see this a couple of ways. 1. If you serve at least 20 years (the minimum for retirement) and retire. Then you should receive all the retirement bennys. 2. If you serve some time, less then 20 years, I kinda agree. Nobody made me join, it is all volunteer. I did 4 years in the Navy during the first Gulf War as a Medic to the Marines. I knew the risks, nothing happened to me. I am perfectly able to find a job that has insurance....which I did. I feel like the VA is for wounded Vets or Vets with psych problems, or retirees. That is just my humble opinion.

While I can walk in to any VA Hospital because of this, I still have to pay for my visit because I'm not disabled/retired. What this means is that Obama would be talking about disabled vets/retired vets. If he indeed said this, which I'm still hoping that our president isn't stupid enough to say. I would surely hope he is not talking about retirees and the wounded. The military is just like any other job.......with greater risks during war time of course. But the benefits are there for a reason, and they are there when you sign up. If someone does 20+years, or is wounded, they should absolutely receive these benefits. He surely didnt say this. eta: I'm not an Obama supporter at all. I just cant imagine any president during war time saying something like this...ever. Big_Pete 0 Posted June 5, 2010 So snopes says that he never made that 2 paragraph speech, but he did have that bill. That isn't quite as damning as the made up speech, but in a way, it is just as bad. Obama actually wanted to pass a bill and had the bill written to make veterans pay their bills for combat injuries, including amputations!!!! Are you focking kidding me Obama?!?!? This is what happens when you know you have absolutely no one in your party that would be a better option. You just try to make up crap and brainwash people into thinking that any old retard your party rolls out there is better than what we have. Keep trying, guys. It's pathetic, but humorous. RLLD 4,275 Posted June 6, 2010 If you serve the full 20, you retire with full bene's; anything less and you are on your own. If you are injure din the line of duty, you receive treatment for those injuries until you die. If you perish in the line of duty, well, that is already pretty solid right now.... DankNuggs 305 Posted June 7, 2010 Nope, his military embarrassment was Guantanamo, letting convicts head back to the middle east to plan more terror plots then it was threatening to sue Arizona for attempting to enforce the federal law itself then it was going off to play golf instead of being at Arlington Cemetrary on Memorial Day like EVERY OTHER president we've had... His presidency will be remembered as the wake up call america needed....Only a historically bad presidency could get us as a country to change the way we look at the role of the government, our role as citizens and what rights and privileges we will enjoy in the future
NewbieJr 541 Posted June 7, 2010 then it was going off to play golf instead of being at Arlington Cemetrary on Memorial Day like EVERY OTHER president we've had...
