I instigated this discussion a few weeks ago. I came to the conclusion that were isn't a point to washing after draining the lizard. I mean, if you take a leak in the woods, do you search for a puddle or something for those of you that always wash?

I always assumed it was two-fold.

 

 

1. You're in the bathroom. You're touching the toilet seat to raise/lower it and the handle to flush. There are bound to be germs there.

 

 

2. I don't think most people want my peemus-ness on my hands when I grab some chips out of the bowl or shake hands or hold their baby or whatever. It isn't that it's germy or whatever. But how would you feel if someone just rubbed their cack on your couch or shirt or doorknob? So wash that stuff off.

obviously there is never an instance where you SHOULDNT wash your hands. being cleaner is always better.

 

but i tend to think i do it out of habbit more so than thinking "oh no my hands touched my cack... gross".

I was at a rock concert years ago standing next to my car, and all of a sudden this yellow stream of pee was running up against my shoe. I'm not a germophobe so I don't see the need to wash after you piss, unless you get some piss on your hands. That being said, I usually do wash, as I've come to view it as an opportunity to wash away all of the germs I've encountered since my last handwashing.

If several criteria are met, I might not wash my hands after a pee:

 

1. Fist pee of the day after having showered.

2. No touch of the bathroom facilities (i.e. urinal with no touch flush).

3. Haven't taken a dump after the shower.

4. No door to touch. (Like some public facilities have no door, just built so you can't see in)

 

So rarely, I might not wash if all criteria are met. This is usually if the sink looks nasty, and I don't want to touch the sink. But usually I wash them anyway, because its just a convenient time to was away the germs I might have picked up touching other stuff. Now, if I can just figure out how to get out of the bathroom without touching that nasty door handle ... if there's not an auto-closer on the door, then I open the door before washing my hands.
