Best Team you ever had....

Recommended Posts

What's the strongest team you've ever possessed, either on paper going into the season, or after the fact, with a championship (or tragedy) to show for it.

Here's my Dynasty team this year (note the changes from Orig-Post due to new trades)

Now, seriously, it's not here to brag...in fact, I worry that's it's too much for League sustainability.

But it's here to get the thread started - interested in seeing your monster squads.

Rodgers, Cassel, Smith/Kaepernick

AP, CJ, Forte, Moreno, Daniel Thomas

Roddy, Nicks, Fitz, VJax, R. Moss

Gates, Daniels, Cook

So what's yours - any era...?

Yeah, when one team in the league is able to put together a dynasty roster like that, I find it hard to believe the league will last very long. I'm all for rebuilding a dynasty team, but that team is set up to win the league for at least the next 3-5 years. That wouldn't be much fun. Then again, they have themselves to blame for allowing you to acquire such a stacked team. Sounds like a lot of bad trades went through over the years.

I had Culpepper during his MVP season - that was a fun year!

I bought my Hottub with this roster after winning a 1K PPR redraft league in 08. (Or 07 - Can't remember)

I can always remember that team when I'm sitting in the Hottub. :)

I lost 1 game I think that year.

QB - P. Manning/

RB - 4.24, D. Williams, R. Bush, P. Thomas (Hightower)

WR - T. Owens, W. Welker, Breaston & Meachem

TE - J. Carelson, M. Lewis, Free Agents

Def. - Tenn, Hawks

Kick - Vinatieri

I lost in the SB the following year after that with:

QB - Rodgers

RB - 4.24, Forte, A. Bradshaw & Hightower

WR - M. Austin, V. Jackson, TJ Housh, M. Manningham

TE - O. Daniels(#2 until hurt), Witten

Def. - N.O., Balt

Kick - Tynes

I had a good 3 year run. Lost 2 in the SB though from 07-09.

My team last year:

Romo/Freeman

AD

Charles

Arian Foster

Reggie Wayne

Jeremy Maclin/Austin Collie

Winslow

Gould/Buehler

Raiders/Cowboys

Put up the most points in league history (9 years). Got a bye for the first week of playoffs. Lost the next week to the team with the second most points in league history.

But this is a dynasty league, so I'm well positioned to make a run this year.

It was the 1995 season and Emmitt set the td record, Moon threw I think 33 or 34 tds, Chris Carter had multi tds along with Issac Bruce. I lost one game name 2 points. Here was the lineup:

Qb - Moon

Rb - Emmitt Smith

Rb - Erich Rhett (11 or 12 tds plus 1,000yds)

Wr - Carter

Wr - Bruce

Te -Novachek

K - can't remember

Def - Steelers

Now that was a fun year!

Don't remember the year but it was very early 2000's.

QB Culpepper

RB Faulk

RB George

WR Moss

WR D Alexander

WR CC

I lost one game early in the year by 3 points and revenged that loss for the champ. That might have been the year Moss caught three on Thanksgiving Day against Dallas.

I am surprised that there is no mention of anyone dominating with Barry Sanders.

The guy had like, one soft year in 10, and even then he got 1000+ yards.

Somebody had to have Barry and Emmitt and Favre and Rice in the 90's.

I think the problem is twofold:

1) There isn't a lot of traffic right now on the forums.

2) Dynasty and Keeper leagues were not as popular then, which is the only way you're getting all those players on the same team. The first year of my main dynasty was 1997. The four players you're listing here:

1.01 Brett Favre

1.03 Barry Sanders

1.10 Emmitt Smith

2nd round - Jerry Rice (don't remember exact pick)

Four separate teams.

I was really sweating my team this year, as my RBs are Benson, Shonn Greene and Blount. Then over the past few months, I get....

- Bengals going back to the running game

- Greene announced as the bell cow back

- Blount looking like he'll be the #1 back.

To have 3 starting RBs in a 16 team league is freakin huge.

Not really sure what the best team was, but I still remember 1 team years ago.

I had Testavarde at QB

Martin, and Dillon at RB

Moss and Toomer at WR

Wycheck at TE

I started off 7-0. Was the highest scoring, best team in the league. (Next best was 5-2)

Then lost the next 6 games. Snuck into to the playoffs with a 7-6 record, and only by a tie breaker. Then lost my playoff game.

Started the year with a 7 game win streak.

Ended the year with a 7 game losing streak.

Still my most memorable season.

Sounds like a lot of bad trades went through over the years.

In their rookie years, I traded Freeman, Wallace, Maclin - along with Witten, for Rodgers and Lee Evans.

Now, I won the championship last year with Rodgers at the helm...but look at those four guys now!

Last year I traded Forte and Fitz for CJ.

On a fluke, I drafted Foster when he was behind Slaton, and traded him straight up for AP a month ago.

I drafted Gates and White in the start-up Draft. Got Vjax in a trade just before his hold out last year.

A lot of things have gone my way, admittedly, but when I think of the talent that has churned through my hands....!

I had both Manning and Shaun Alexander the season they set the Passing TD and Rushing TD records. In fact, majority of the team is below:

Manning, Peyton QB IND

Alexander, Shaun RB SEA

Lewis, Jamal RB BAL

Evans, Lee WR BUF

Johnson, Chad WR CIN

Moss, Randy WR OAK

Heap, Todd TE BAL

Unfortunately Lewis and Moss where injured early in the season. I acquired them from trades. I lost in the semifinal game when Manning could have broken the TD record but chose to kneel down at the goal line and run out the time. I lost that freaking game by 1 pt. The next week I would have won the championship by like 40 pts. Best team (on paper) I've ever had.

Last year's championship team.

Brees.

SJAX

J. Charles

RunDMC Flex

D. Bowe

Mike Wallace

Vincent Jackson

New D every week.

New Kicker every week

Jimmy Graham TE

I won the Points title and the Championship and swept most of the prize money in a 12 man league. I drafted the first 7 players on that list too. First year I've never made a trade. Though I came sooooo close to dealing Dwayne Bowe for nothing. He ended up being the highest scoring WR in my league by years end! I started the season 0-2...then I finished the season with 11 straight wins.

Lost in the championship game two years in a row, as we know in FF playoffs anything can happen. Really proud that I was able to put this team together in a serious money league with guys that know what they are doing, also my team is still kinda young.

2002:

McNair and Bulger (played each during their hot streaks too)

Holmes (2000 all purpose yards, 27 tds)

J Lewis (2066 yds, 14 tds)

R Moss (1600, 17 tds)

A Toomer (1000, 5)

T Gonzales (916, 10)

We only played 2 wrs back then. My team point total was ridiculous, I won the 1st 3 wks of the season, and a total of like 11 weeks ($90 per week), and pretty much inspired my league to change from total points season long to a schedule, win-loss, playoff format.

My current dynasty team:

Brees, Freeman

Rice, Charles, Mathews, Greene, Starks, Ben Tate, Snelling

AJohnson, LFitz, Jacoby Ford, A. Benn, Golden Tate, Demaryius Thomas, Brandon Tate, Taylor Price, Andre Caldwell

Winslow

Buehler

NYG

1.1,1.2,3.2

Ive traded Blount, VJax, Choice, 1.6,1.8, 1.12, 2.2,2.3 for the 1.1 and 1.2 this offseason.

Where would you go with those two picks if you had my team??? (obviously wr with one, but then who? Ingram? Green? Jones? Who do I let pass me???)

McNair

Faulk

Edge

Bruce

CuMar (flex)

I think this was 2000. Lost one game and won the championship. I don't think I'll ever get a better team.

Last years team was amazing - I dont think i'll ever match this again - I took over a Dynasty team..

After a few Key trades and the draft it ended up like this - \ keep in mind there is no Waiver in this league...

QBS M. Schaub /T. Romo

RBS A. Foster/A.Peterson/J. Charles/F. Jackson/J Starks ( AP I had - drafted Foster #5 overall - Traded Welker and Holmes for charles)

WRS B.Loyd/S.Johnson/G.Jennings/T. Owens/M. Thomas/M. Clayton

TES J. Finley/V.Davis

K N.Rackers/G.Hartley

DEF RAVENS/LIONS

i only lost 1 game which was the Texans bye week!

I lost in the champioship to a team with Vick/R.White OH well revenge is going to sweet this year!

this team had the #3 QB , #1,2,&3, RBs #1,5,7 WRs (Who knows where Finley ends up but i would i guess #1or2

#1 K

I don't remember the full roster, but the best move I ever made was back in Priest Holmes' last season. I had picked Larry Johnson of the WW like in week 5 when somebody dropped him. He sat on my bench for weeks, then down goes Holmes. I rode LJ to an easy title win.

I remember that year I also conned some guy into trading me Drew Brees (his last SD season I think?) for Mike Vick, straight up. Made out like a bandit.

My team from last year lost in the title game

I can only keep 5 of these for this year (took out the garbage fillers) so I need to try and make some trades

QB: Schaub

RB: Mendenhall, Moreno, Forte

WR: Roddy, Jennings, Colston, Collie

TE: Gates

It was my second year playing fantasy, going into my third this year. Inherited it from a vacant owner. I'll never join a dynasty/keeper league halfway through again though, because this is the commissioner's keeper team (3rd place last year:

QB: Manning

RB: AP, Foster, maybe Mcfadden

WR: Andre

And he just traded SJax for a 1st round pick, so he has 2 mid-late picks in the first.

I got screwed out of Foster on the waiver order last year and the idiot who picked him up traded him for crap
