Voltaire 3,804 Posted August 19, 2011 You guys know me, I've been around here forever, mostly in the Geek Club. I've got my juices flowing to start up a new dynasty league this year. It'll be free. It'll fill first come first serve. Post in this thread. 12 or 14 teams depending on how fast it fills. I'll update scoring and rosters later today by editing this sentence out and replacing it with actual info. Leaning towards 1/2/3/1/1/1 but if we go 14, that 2nd RB could flex into a 4th WR. Scoring will be regular vanilla scoring. Please indicate weather you prefer PPR or not. Now, there is a theme, it's: Cult Movie Classics. All team names are expected to follow the theme. I'm setting up a yahoo site now (since it's free and carries over year to year we'll use a free site to host). Kicking the tires, I'm not familiar with slowboat drafting there. Gimme a half a day to get the scoring details down. We may draft at yahoo or we may do it at myfantasyleague.com but then I'll transfer and upload it over at yahoo. I'll figure it all out. I'll give folks in here a week to fill as many spots as we can. There's a lot of newer folks that check this forum. But older ones may pass it by. Voltaire 3,804 Posted August 20, 2011 These rosters are going to be larger than you are use to so be prepared to do some homework. I intend a dynasty league that allows you to stash rookie sleepers and handcuff your RBs, not one with a short bench that has lots of talent on the FA wire. The scoring will be pretty much vanilla plain ordinary but indicate if you prefer PPR or non-PPR and we'll roll with what the majority wants. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

So we have that going for us, we won;t be using yahoo. Also I have had another participant (calliso5) PM me, he should be in this thread soon. So that makes four of us. Now, I know the regular season starts September 8 and today is August 20. so we will have to finish up with live draft the Saturday before. Live drafts take a big block of time, so the more we knock out, the less time that will spend on that Saturday. If we're making good time. Ideally, we'll really kick ass such that we may ditch that Saturday entirely. But don't count on it. The reason I want to slowboat is that I think a lot of folks aren't as up to speed on all the camp battles and such and a slowboat (at least for the first half of the draft) is less scary since it gives them time to do research on the fly. Then when we accelerate it to live draft (if necessary) by then people will have had a couple weeks to figure it out. Time is short so don't expect a big turn around time. It'll start a day or two after we get participant #14 or if we stall out around 12. Looks like we're up to nine with two "maybes" including you (tim new) and nikki2200. I don't want a firm 1/2/3/1/1/1 because rosters are a bit thin at 14 teams so that 2nd RB can be a WR. Scoring will be the same as this league: http://football3.myfantasyleague.com/2011/options?L=11489 You'll notice no PPR but we can add it if enough of you guys like. Still, we won't turn on the timer until round two and since I provided no notice of us starting so soon, I don't intend to get fed up for at least 48 hours. Make sure I see you around. This first round is critical to save your spot. I'd love to have Bill E. participate. But he's the 15th man in a 14 team league.
