StegRock 0 Posted August 19, 2011 Hi, FFTodayers! It has been awhile since I have darkened the doorsteps around here. Some of the old-timers may remember me... Anyway, my query... Which two of the following three would you keep in a deep-keeper format: Plaxico Burress, Mike Williams (Seahawks) or Danario Alexander? Cut-down date is late night Sunday, August 21st. Thanks in advance for any feedback!
polecatt 478 Posted August 19, 2011 I'd say Plaxico and Williams but it's kind of a toss up.
StegRock 0 Posted August 19, 2011 I'd say Plaxico and Williams but it's kind of a toss up. Those are my thoughts exactly, pc. Since it is a DEEP-keeper (12 players protected from year-to-year) format, youth is an important consideration, and Alexander is looking increasingly intriguing the more I study him and the situation he is in in St. Louis. Anybody else have any helpful thoughts about any of this?
b-unit 0 Posted August 19, 2011 I'd go Alexander and Plax. QB situation just so much better in STL. plus I'm a firm believer to go with youth in keeper formats.
Fantasy Noob 10 Posted August 19, 2011 I say Williams and Alexander, let youth rule. Also neither of these guys shot themselves in the leg recently, spent 18months in jail and is 34 years old. Alexander is on a young offense with a potential stud at QB. Williams...we (the seahawks) are going to suck this season, no two ways around that, I think we finally get our franchise QB next year. We rebuilt our O-line the last 2 years, added Rice and Miller 2 young pro bowl talents to the offense, Williams is a good possesion type reciever and combined with his size makes him a good red zone target. All that said Williams to Plaxico not much to get excited about in eithers case.

What is your reasoning there? Put another way, where is it that you disagree with the take of FN, whose suggestion is to keep the two young guys? What is it about Plax over Williams that causes you to go against your youth-movement philosophy? PLEASE do not take this as an attack on your position, bu. I too think that of the three Plax is "somehow" the one that has to be protected (I suppose we will know a little bit better come the game Sunday). I am just looking to pick your brain because breaking down your thought process here is, I think, where the key to my decision lies. I look forward to your response... and anyone else's... StegRock 0 Posted August 20, 2011 Still would like to hear bu out regarding my last question... But, let me throw this wrench in here... All things equal, what if it was two out of four with the additional player's being LaDainian Tomlinson? In other words, which two would you keep of these FOUR: WR's Burress, Williams (Seahawks), Alexander, or RB Tomlinson? And, yes, like most other leagues, running backs come at a premium. Thoughts? NorthernVike 2,086 Posted August 20, 2011 Not Plexiglass. That guy is going to burn out and fade away in a year or two.
b-unit 0 Posted August 20, 2011 I guess I didn't realize Mike Williams was only 26. And it was more pertaining to Alexander. I feel like Plax and Williams are kind of a toss up. Shitty QB/team with Williams and uncertainty with Plax. My comment about youth wasn't suppose to relate with Plax but I can see why that came across.

What is it about Alexander that you like (at least more than Williams and Burress) (and, per my update here, Tomlinson?)? If anything, most of whom I talk to think he is the definite cut of the three (or four). BUT, I am looking to be persuaded...
b-unit 0 Posted August 21, 2011 The more I read on Alexander, the more I realize that he's really buried in the Rams depth chart. He does have good potential in a deep keeper league. I guess I'm not gonna try and persuade you into keeping St. Louis's WR4 or 5.
