Lets see some draft results!

Recommended Posts

Alright lets see some draft results for those who have had 12 team drafts so far. I had one tonight and have one Thursday and Sunday.

Tonight was 12 team Keeper League. I ended up with the #12 pick so i got the first pick tonight. We could only keep 1. So i got really lucky with AP not being kept but its a PPR league. I did a horrible job with TE. There was a run on TEs in the 4th damn round for some reason :dunno: By time i picked Schuab in 4th round the only QBs, id consider starting, that were left were Schuab, Ben, Freeman and Ryan. So took Schuab. Manning, Brady, Vick, Brees, and Rodgers were all kept by owners.

RND#1-12 Andre Johnson, Hou WR-keeper
RND#2-13 Adrian Peterson, Min RB
RND#3-36 Ahmad Bradshaw, NYG RB
RND#4-37 Matt Schaub, Hou QB
RND#5-60 Marques Colston, NO WR
RND#6-61 Ryan Mathews, SD RB
RND#7-84 Jeremy Maclin, Phi WR
RND#8-85 Tim Hightower, Wsh RB
RND#9-108 Joe Flacco, Bal QB
RND#10-109 Julio Jones, Atl WR
RND#11-132 Aaron Hernandez, NE TE
RND#12-133 Patriots D/ST D/ST
RND#13-156 Thomas Jones, KC RB
RND#14-157 Chris Cooley, Wsh TE
RND#15-180 Toby Gerhart, Min RB
RND#16-181 David Buehler*, Dal K

Here's my picks, with my analysis for each pick.

12 team league, Interceptions = -6 points each, Fumbles = -4 points each, 6 points for all TD's

QB/RB/RB/WR/WR/WR/TE/D/K, 4 Bench Spots

1.06 - Rodgers, QB --> First QB off the board, CJ2K & McCoy were other options, but with the QB scoring, QB is a more important position.

2.07 - McFadden, RB --> Highest RB on my board at the time. Fitzgerald/Calvin Johnson were the other options here.

3.06 - Hillis, RB --> Miles Austin dropped down here, but I'm not as low on Hillis as others.

4.07 - Holmes, WR --> Had to grab a WR, other options were Mike Williams, Colston, Lloyd

5.06 - Best, RB --> Tons of WR options I still liked on the board, so I went with a value pick here on a RB going a full round after his ADP.

6.07 - Finley, TE --> #1 TE on my board (and #48 on Yahoo's big board) is here at pick 67. I couldn't wait any longer.

7.06 - Smith (Car), WR --> Desperation pick. There were 5 WR's I liked when I picked Finley, none made it back to me. Other choices: Julio Jones, AJ Green, Sidney Rice

8.07 - Amendola, WR --> Other WR's available: Roy Williams, Robert Meachem, AJ Green still

9.06 - Sims-Walker, WR

10.07 - Bush (Mia), RB --> A 15 carry per game RB should not make it to round 10 in a 12 team league. Hopefully he has a good first few games, and I can trade him.

11.06 - Roberts, WR --> A breakout WR I like.

12.07 - Cardinals, D

13.06 - Henery, K

Don't quite get this draft. MJD probably went mid-late 1st, so Fitz was the beginning/middle of round #2, makes sense. But then all the way back around you still got Wallace? Romo makes sense in the fourth but then you got Witten all the way back around at the end of 5?

Who'd your grandma draft?

Standard scoring, non-ppr for both leagues. Start QB,RB,RB,WR,WR,TE,FLEX,K,DEF.

8th pick, drafted 8/22...

QB

Vick (1.08)

Stafford (10.05)

V.Young (15.08)

RB

G.Little (14.05)

TE

D.Clark (6.05)

K

A.Henry (16.05)

DEF

Atlanta (17.08)

11th pick, drafted 8/24...

QB

Vick (1.11)

Cam Newton (14.02)

RB

Hillis (2.02)

J.Best (4.02)

P.Thomas (7.11)

Hardesty (9.11)

Spiller (10.02)

J.Harrison (13.11)

WR

M.Wallace (3.11)

W.Welker (6.02)

A.Collie (8.02)

A.J.Green (11.11)

J.Nelson (12.02)

TE

J.Finley (5.11)

K

A.Henry (15.11)

DEF

Oakland (16.02)

These teams are somewhat similar with me taking Vick/Hillis 1/2 in both drafts. I think I like the first team a lot more because of my depth at RB but my second team is a bit more well-rounded (better WRs).

Am i seeing that right -6 for INTS :shocking: Now you can make a good case that Rodgers is the #1 fantasy QB this year but in that format you have to take Brady.

2010-

Brady 36 TDs only 4 INTs

Rodgers 28 TDs 11 INTs

Most bizzare draft we've ever had in this league. 11 semi-smart owners, 1 complete dumbass. QB and RB's for rounds 1 and 2. Probably should have went rb/wr/wr but Williams in the 4th is hopefully great value. Greene is good to great, I'm fine. Greene bad, year over.

Flacco - 7

Orton - 11

Peterson - 1

Greene - 2

Lynch - 6

Thomas (Mia) - 8

McKnight (NYJ) - 14

Nicks - 3

Williams (TB) - 4

Thomas (Jax) - 10

Moore (NO) - 9

Witten - 5

Pats-D - 12

Rackers - 13

qb/rb/rb/wr/wr/te/k/d

Don't ask, commish refuses to change scoring.

4 per passing TD

6 per rushing/rec TD

1 per 50 passing

1 per 20 rushing

PPR league: 4 point touchdowns passing. 15 yards receiving and 10 rushing. 12 teams

Qb, wr, wr, rb, rb, w/r/t , te, k, def, 2 idp

Romo, Stafford

McCoy, Hillis, Benson, Starks

Wayne, Harvin, Amendola, Bess, Collie

Olsen

Henery

Detroit

Tulloch, DJ Williams

Peyton Mannings injury seemed to cause everyone to hesitate on ALL Colts players and all dropped lower than their ADP. Fortunately this draft happened prior to tonights game with Wayne, well.....that and fortunately there was lots of Jamison, beer, and 1800 tequila. Chris Johnson went to the number 8 pick. Being an Eagles homer I had to take LeSean over CJIII at seven.

Granted, it's a kicker and often our projections, opinions, yada yada don't mean much in terms of the final rankings....

but have any of you EVER seen such a general consensus on a kicker like Alex Henery?

rookie, not getting projected as necessarily the highest scoring kicker, plays outdoors and in some volatile weather...just incredible though. Personally I hope he does great this year as he's replacing an amazing Eagle, but man oh man, I hope Roseman and Reid made the right choice

All in all I'm not too thrilled about the team. I should have taken an elite WR with one of my first 2 picks and I picked Antonio Gates to early because Finley and Clark went the two picks before me. Romo is a tossup, my RB's are alright, and my WR's are terrible.

I had to draft this team while playing in a golf tournament (2 man best ball - the good news is that we're tied for 3rd @ 5 under after day one, at least :P):

Drafted 7th. This is 4pts passing TD; 6 pts rushing/receiving TD; 1pt/10 yards rushing/receiving & 1 pt/17 yards passing:

Vick

Eli Manning

Mendenhall

Best

Tolbert

Fred Jackson

Michael Bush

Montario Hardesty

Nicks

Stevie Johnson

Harvin

Mike Thomas

Garcon

Finley

New England D

Josh Brown

I'm not sure what to think about this team; it's all about the fra-geel-ay. If Vick and Best can stay upright, I think this team could be explosive, but we'll see.

Yes if Vick and Best stay healthy your good to go. But very impressive drafting in golf cart. Unless you used an IPAD to do it but if was on your phone you get bonus pts

IPAD would have been good, but it was a live draft - and I was the only clown not there (my co-captain bailed on me and went fishing instead, after he had promised to draft, the ish-for-brains  ). I ended up having printouts of my cheatsheets, and drafted through text-messaging. That was a PITA, particularly because the guy helping me at the draft had a phone that kept going out. I wouldn't recommend anyone do it; it was a distracting (but at least it didn't hurt the golf).
