Patriotsfatboy1 1,433 Posted October 4, 2011 The government regularly bans free speech. Like in public schools. You are not allowing to talk about other races or religions or genders. You are not allowed to talk about these same people outside of school, outside of school property, on even on your own free time. Now you have all this bullying horsesh!t, where even adults are being prosecuted for satire. More and more legislation is making internet and other free speech much more restrictive because everybody in this country has turned into a faggut that doesn't want their feelings hurt. How about when some dumb broad eavesdrops on a private conversation at work and then complains to HR that something said offended them. One HR class we took pointed out a case where a delivery guy asked out a secretary after work for dinner. During the meal, the delivery guy said something with no ill intention that the broad took offense to. The next day, the secretary called the delivery guy's company, and he was fired for inappropriate speech even though it was not work related. The company won the court case for the incident too. Of course, Obama's administration is constantly looking for whistleblowers to find bloggers against Obama's policies so they can go after these authors and sites and shut them down. Which they have done. Obama has been given the right to shut down the internet access in this country during a time of "crisis". NPR is given public funding. They fired Juan Williams because he wasn't liberal enough in his view points. And of course, their leaders were caught on tape disparaging certain ethnic groups. But they still receive their funding. So, in this case government supports free speech as long as it agrees with their view point only. So, how exactly is the government not restricting our free speech, among some of these items I cited? Although, it's not as bad as Canada. Yet. Up there, stand up comedians are being fined, banned from provinces, and even served jail time for jokes that any audience member may take offense to. After my 8 year old son's football game the other day, he was saying that he hated the other team and was calling them losers (even though they won). I smacked him in the back of the head and he started in with the "I have a right to free speech", yada, yada, yada. So, I smacked him in the head again. I knew a guy who got fired after 25 years with a company because after work at a bar where a bunch of co-workers were, he said I always wanted to bang a black chick in front of a black woman. She complained and got him fired. She then subsequently went out on medical leave for about a year. Don't know exactly what it was about but it wouldn't surprise me in the least if it was mental distress from the incident. And there's not a damn thing a company can do about it. MDC 7,899 Posted October 4, 2011 Free speech! Dumbarses: Free speech is protected from the government. It doesn't guarantee you continued sponsorship or employment. Maybe the fagguts crying over poor Hank Williams should consider this case when they argue that businesses should have almost limitless rights to fire their workers at any time for virtually any reason. Quit crying fagguts.
kutulu 1,707 Posted October 4, 2011 It's time for a change anyway. Maybe Hank the III should get a shot at the theme song.

Cruzer 1,996 Posted October 4, 2011 I don't really care about the remarks, doesn't offend me - Freedom of Speech. I'm just glad as hell they pulled that lame ass opening. I have always hated it - sorry Hank. Bring back the opening from the glory days with Dandy Don, Howard, and Franky - that was golden!

DankNuggs 305 Posted October 4, 2011 Which is one of the reasons why Republicans want to privatize everything, incidentally. When you're dealing with a private company, you have no rights. jerryskids 7,091 Posted October 4, 2011 From Hank "Some of us have strong opinions and are often misunderstood. My analogy was extreme -- but it was to make a point. I was simply trying to explain how stupid it seemed to me -- how ludicrous that pairing was. They're polar opposites and it made no sense. They don't see eye-to-eye and never will. I have always respected the office of the President." That's how I read it initially -- it didn't seem like "Obama is Hitler," but merely a hyperbole. Credit to Saint Elistan for saying it first. Doesn't surprise me, although I'm not sure how much blame goes to ESPN. You just know that some whackjob PC group somewhere would have gone apeshit if ESPN had allowed that spot to play. That being said, they were airing Colts vs. Bucs... they needed some publicity to get anyone to watch that abortion of a matchup.

parrot 789 Posted October 4, 2011 I honestly don't get the uproar. Isn't he really just saying that they are polar opposites? Well, maybe, except for the part where he called Obama "THE ENEMY!" He's perfectly entitled to his opinion, but ESPN/Disney is also perfectly entitled to decide whether they want him front and center pitching one of their major products.
