Tebow!

:nono: Tebow Christ is not the only player on that team and there is a coach too. Well planned out game by the coaching staff IMO. Great overall TEAM effort by Denver.

It is really incredible how much better the entire team has played since Tebow has taken over. Just proves that one player can lift an entire team.

This is like the housing bubble. Get fat while you can, as somebody is going to really hurt that kid the way he runs around out there.

I'm seriously considering dedicating my life to christ. There has to be some sort of divine intervention going on. The level of suck is just so monumental. It's just amazing.

Tebow just keeps winning and putting up 20 FPTs for my team.

BTW, that's not the worst idea you ever had, mobb.

And all this monumental suck is threatening to suck Denver right into the playoffs.

I mean... He is still winding up for a throw he made in the 3rd quarter.

I think you're dilusional, the Denver's D is what won the game, not the 9 for 18 for 147 yds and 67 yds rushing! That kind of game from a QB would lose 99% of the games nowadays..unless your playing the hapless Chargers and soon to be gone Norv Turner!

It was a team effort. With that said Tebows stats have looked like that in his 5 out of 6 wins. Looks like your 99% stat is a little off. Check your facts :)

Anyone can rack up hundreds of meaningless yards. All of The Tebow's yards are strategically placed to maximize their effectiveness.

Well duh, you can't have Tebow's QB stat's and give him credit for the win!

Every FF player that gets talked about a lot needs a nickname.....or a shortened/abbreviated reference.

With that in mind, I hereby designate Tebow to be henceforth known simply as DI.

Short, of course, for Divine Intervention. So be it.

This.

No, Tebow is not 100% responsible for Denver's victories, but you can't tell me that he hasn't made a difference in how the rest of the team is playing.

I clipped the following from the Football Guys: "Skelton was missing high all day and only found himself on the winning team because of special teams and the running game."

However, when it comes to Tebow, the national perception is that Denver wins because of Tebow, not despite his shaky play. If you honestly believe that Tebow's mere presence on the field makes opposing kickers miss field goals (heck it makes them nearly piss themselves apparently), and opposing receivers drop passes, you are buying into the big lie being perpetuated by the media. With that said, I do think some of the recent stinginess of the defense can be tenuously attributed to the conservative strategy employed by the Denver staff to work within Tebow's limitations. The games are shorter, thereby limiting scoring opportunities, so in all fairness, Tebow can to some degree be linked to the improved scoring defense.

Once Tebow gets a real training camp as the clear cut starter under his belt, I expect opposing teams will just forfeit the games to the Broncos rather than waiting for the Divine Intervention that will be sure to come.

A huge Denver fan and equally huge Tebow hater posted the following to our league message board:

"I've been saying all along that Tebow is really a RUNNING BACK not a QUARTERBACK!!!!"

He goes on to make a quite good case for himself. And Tebow. As a RB. Accordingly, the commissioner will announce sometime this week that he has twiddled with the settings and I will, based on the guy's repeated insistence that Tebow is a running back, be allowed to start Tebow as a RB next week when I play the guy. The same guy who insists Tebow is a running back. The guy who will now be facing Cam Newton or Matthew Stafford at QB and Tim Tebow at RB. Now if I can only get him to say Newton is really a TE. Or that Stafford is a D/ST.

We'll switch back before game time. Or maybe not.

Damn Debbie Downers, just enjoy the ride and enjoy the fact that we finally have something different in the league other than the cookie cutter the NFL normally is. Option, wishbone, 22 carry QB is fun as hell to watch when it is working. And he's made a couple big plays down field a game to at least make them think about the pass.

It takes the NFL about 6 to 8 games to figure out new offenses. Your entire scouting report goes out the window and it's not easy to defend. Especially when there's a running QB involved. It's why so many new and backup running QBs look great...for only a short time. Cunningham, Kordell, Vick...Tebow's next. Once defenses get a read on Tebow, it'll be over. Because like I said before, the longer they let him be a college QB, the farther away from an NFL QB he gets. The Broncos already know it; it's why they won't commit to Tebow for next year.

But most casual fans won't understand that. So when the Broncos draft a QB next year all of them are going to wonder why and start blaming anti-God forces or some crazy sh*t like that.

Not getting into the religious pissing contest that sometimes surrounds Tebow, not the debate on his effectiveness as a QB, I've been reading the new book "Steve Jobs" by Walter Isaacson.

Just like Tebow is by no means a great QB, Jobs was not a great engineer (Wozniak), and he was often a terrible manager who had almost no tact. But both of these men have something special. They have the ability to produce "a very powerful Reality Distortion Field" - a unique capability to will almost the impossible to happen ruitinely.

From the book: 'when members of the Mac team got ensnared in [Job's] reality distortion field, they were almost hypnotized. "It didn't matter if he was serving purple Kool-aid. You drank it" said Debi Coleman. But like Wozniak, she believed that the reality distortion field was empowering: It enabled Jobs to inspire his team to change the course of computer history with a fraction of the resources of Xerox or IBM. "It was a self-fulfilling distortion," she claimed. "You did the impossible, because you didn't realize it was impossible." '

There is no doubt in my mind doubt that Tebow, just like Jobs, can through force of sheer willpower and belief make things happen not just through his own will, but through inspiring the other players on his team to believe in what before would have been impossible.

That same reality distortion field is what infused Apple employees with an abiding passion to create groundbreaking products and a belief that they could accomplish what seemed impossible.

Tim Tebow is not the sole reason the Broncos are winning (not even close), but he does help the team in plenty of ways:

1. The Rushing Attack: Because of Tebow's running abilities teams' have to watch the outside, there by leaving the middle open: henceforth's McGahee's run that sealed the game.

2. Time of Possession: With a ball control, running game, it allows the defense to stay fresh and prevents a potential shootout from occurring. The Broncos can't win in a shootout (see Lions game), and this time controlled offense allows the game to stay close throughout.

3. Turnover Battle: The Broncos haven't had a turnover in 4 games! This is directly tied to Tebow. He values the football and will not turn it over.

,

If you can consistently win the turnover battle, win the time of possession battle, and move the ball adequately enough, you will be in almost every football game. Then you let Timmy do his thing on occasion and you have a recipe for success.

Tebow - is wining games ... if he a real NFL QB - NO. Elway knows it as well. Part of Elway is pissed he is winning games becsue now he basically has to start him next year as well. He is a winner and a great guy and leader -- but cannot throw at all yet alone read a D. I can't count how many wide open WR's he had and wide open players he totally missed. He does it all the time.

From Mark Kisla, Denver Post

The Broncos, however, have 100 percent faith that Tebow can lead them to the playoffs after a dismal 1-4 start to this season. "I've never seen a human who can will himself to win like that," Denver linebacker Von Miller said.

"Tebow believes in what he believes in. It's amazing. He doesn't change for anybody. He's the same 2 4/7. I've witnessed it on tough days, cold days, he's the same every day," Miller said. "What (Tebow) has his mind-set on is going to work. And it does."

As a 37-yard field goal by Prater clinched the victory, one of the happiest Broncos spied standing near the team bench was team executive John Elway. "I understand better than most how every time you come to this town it's a dogfight," he explained.

With the toothy smile that made him almost as famous as his big right arm, Elway offered Tebow congratulations near midfield during the victory celebration.

Coming from the biggest legend in Broncos history, this qualified as more than a slap on the back for Tebow. It was a seal of approval.

Is Tebow really that bad of a passer? His completion percentage is poor (47.1%) but he's thrown 13 TDs and only 4 INTs in 10 career starts (plus a handful of plays) for a 81.1 QB rating. He's also run for almost 700 yards and 9 TDs in that time. By contrast Andy Dalton has a rating of 81.8 and he's regarded as having a great rookie season.

Not saying he will or won't ever develop into a starting quality NFL QB, but usually the standard for rookie QBs is that they throw more TDs than INTs, don't kill their team with turnovers and show some pocket presence. Tebow has done all of those things. Now if he just flat out doesn't have an NFL-caliber arm and can't make the throws then you give up on him. But he's got a very good arm and it's his footwork and throwing motion he needs major work on. Those things are fixable and he is by all accounts a hard worker.

I'm rooting for him. :dunno:

One thing I noticed about him is that with that mega-windup of his, it's almost impossible for him to throw an out-route. Because of the timing, he needs to start well before the receiver is making his break, which is a dead give away to the DB. Everything that he throws to the sidelines is a drag route where the receiver just keeps going all the way across the field, a corner route, or a fly pattern.

At this point, even if Tebow won the SB this year, folks would still say he sucks ass. Tebowphobia is rampant in this country right now.
