What should I name my son?

Recommended Posts

See, it pretty much guarantees that the kid will be a turtling little doosh.

The kid's Father is MDC.

Turtling little doosh is unavoidable

Pierre DC will have 40 cocks before his 18th birthday

Wife and I have decided that Junior will be called Peter after my father, but my dad's name is actually Pierre. So we're wavering on Peter or Pierre as the "official" name. If we name him Pierre he can go by Pete, Peter, Pierre ... options. My stepdaughter is afraid he'll get beat up in the schoolyard with that name though. I tried to tell her he'll probably get beat up because his dad's a secretary, but she's not hearing it.

Thoughts? :dunno:

I know a guy with the name Pierre. His nickname was Pee-in-the-air. That's what the kids will call him. :overhead:

My dad was born in France and his name is Pierre. He goes by Pete but just recently told me in hindsight he wished he'd gone by Pierre.

I figure if we name junior Pierre, we call him "Pete" and when he's older he's got options. If we name him Peter he can't go by Pierre later in life.

Your dad being French splains a lot.

Maybe you can make his MIDDLE name Pierre? I was big on not being a JR. and not having a name that could be shortened. We ended up picking Preston.... It's bad enough our last name rhymes with the gay...

i think pierre is a beautiful name.

my cousin is named pierre.

actually, his first name is kevin while his middle name is pierre.

yet, we've always preferred to call him pierre.

i think it's a lovely name.

he's not gay....to our knowledge anyway.

(you remember princess grace of monaco? well her daughter caroline has 2 sons named pierre and they're both gorgeous!)

Just make sure he wears a beret with his name on it... authenticity these days is important.

In honor of prolly the Eagles' greatest player, who also happened to be a fictional boxer - I'd go with Rocky. :pointstosky:

Just pick something normal man. Everybody tries to name their kids these original names now. My buddy just named his son "Deegan" (like Brian Deegan the motocross guy). I just wanted to laugh in his face, when he told me that name. Seriously man... what's wrong with Joseph, Michael, Benjamin, Brian, Robert, etc. etc? Stick with a classic, so he doesn't end up on heroin on doing gay porn.

I'm not a fan of nicknames which stray too far from the original name. First day of school, the teacher will say "Pierre?" He'll say, "I go by Pete", so the other kids will know anyway. Also, everyone who knows him as Pete will presume it is short for Peter, which will cause him a lot of grief later in life. JMO.

I can't tell you how true this is in my life.My name is John been called Jack since a baby.Im the 4th in family with this albatros hung around my neck.Every first day of school...every time I sign papers/documents/checks...been a pain in the ass!!"I didn't know your name was John" "how do you get Jack out Of John?" it goes on and on and on..Im forty-######-two and I hate it to this day."Just call me Jack and STFU"

OMG you cannot name your kid Pierre...

Seriously.

This.

I often wonder what kind of parents intentionally do this sh1t to their kid knowing full well the torture they are setting them up for. Now I have my answer. WOW.

I'm impressed that we could all put our political differences aside and unite to prevent a fellow geek from making an enormous mistake. I feel like we did some good in the geek club today.
