Fearsome 22 Posted September 3, 2012 Wondering if the depth of this draft at QB is good enough to pass on Stafford at 2.2 if he is there for me. I am in a 10 team, standard scoring keeper league. The top three will be gone and Stafford will be the best available QB in the draft when it gets to me. I have never been an early QB guy. Got Eli as my starter last year in the 10th. My keeper is Rice at 1.9.
dpbuddha 9 Posted September 3, 2012 Nice value with Rice at 1.9 btw. I have to say that a team with Rice/Stafford would be pretty bad@$$. I'd be interested to know what else you expect to be available...not sure how your keeper system works. In a 10-team league there's going to be decent depth everywhere, especially WR imo. I think you'll be fine going any direction here BUT WR...unless Megatron is there for some crazy reason. If you wait until Round 9/10 for a QB you're still going to end up with a decent QB, but after Stafford it drops off and guys 5-10 are very similar so either take Stafford or wait until everyone else has their starting QB. Moemoney 8 Posted September 3, 2012 Grab Stafford! If healthy he could be number one overall!
gridiron whirlwinds 10 Posted September 3, 2012 Dont pass on Stafford....pair him with Ray Ray
montana 89 Posted September 3, 2012 I had Rice, Megatron, & Stafford last year on 1 team. If it weren't for injuries to the rest of my team I woulda dominated. Those 3 carried my team to a 3rd place finish. I'd pick Stafford in the 2nd & look for best available in the 3rd+. Those 2 could carry your team.
We Tigers 71 Posted September 3, 2012 All depends on who's there. If Matt Forte slips to 2.02--which is definitely possible in a 10-team league--then I'd have a hard time taking Stafford. But if you're staring at Fitzgerald, maybe not. I grabbed him without hesitation at 2.07 in a 12-team league over the weekend, so I definitely think he's worth a second-rounder if you believe in his ability to repeat, or come close. This last year the drop-off after the first 5 QBs was HUGE... why not give yourself the best possible chance to crack that top 5? By doing so you are probably giving yourself a 120 pt leg up on the rest of the competition (depends on your scoring system)
