BunnysBastatrds Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 and that the NYT/Clinton example is a very bad example of media bias. Why? Because it shows bias? How about the media fighting with the Bush administration to allow cameras at the homecomings of dead soldiers and crying about it when they were denied. And now that Obama's in office you never hear from the media about this. Or the death count totals the NYT posted whenever it hit a significant number. Why aren't they on page one the way they were before? Bias. Quote
Herbivore Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Why? Because it shows bias? It shows bias to a partisan. The story that Drudge ran with is just sensationalism. The only person who had any right to the knowledge of Bill and Monica really is Hillary. How about the media fighting with the Bush administration to allow cameras at the homecomings of dead soldiers and crying about it when they were denied. And now that Obama's in office you never hear from the media about this. Since I blame Bush for the dead soldiers, and not Obama, I don't see a problem with this. Or the death count totals the NYT posted whenever it hit a significant number. Why aren't they on page one the way they were before? Bias. Same as above. I am sure there are better examples. Quote
BunnysBastatrds Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 I am sure there are better examples. How about the Bush/Gore election? You think the media was fair during that fiasco? Quote
Herbivore Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 How about the Bush/Gore election? You think the media was fair during that fiasco? Which part? The hanging chad thing? If overall, I can't remember things being quite as stark as they are these days. Quote
BunnysBastatrds Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Which part? The hanging chad thing? If overall, I can't remember things being quite as stark as they are these days. The whole thing. I read the NYT during the entire story up until Bush was sworn in. Whenever there was good news from the courts that helped Al Gore, positive things were written about those involved. Whenever positive things helped Bush, negative things were written about those involved. I'm not talking about the OP/ED either. It was almost comical. Quote
NewbieJr Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 You asked me a question and I answered it. That's not politically newsworthy to me. Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan were the best two Presidents of my lifetime. I don't care if they were both getting their knobs polished every night. Quote

Bruce Benedict Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 How about the Bush/Gore election? You think the media was fair during that fiasco? Way more than fair. Bush stole an election through corporate corruption and political strongarming in a state where *gasp* his brother was governor. The media reported it as controversial. The reality is, it was criminal. Thus, the media leaned well to the right of reality. Quote
NewbieJr Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 How about committing perjury in a sexual harassment lawsuit brought against him? Yawn. Couldn't care less. Personal behavior is tabloid fodder in my eyes. Quote

Phurfur Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 What it comes down to is that TV and the Media are major parts of the current phase of MK-Ultra and it is working to perfection. Quote

Yeah, no need for the President to pay attention to laws.......as long as he has D behind his name, right Ducky? I'm guessing you would change your tune if you had a lawsuit going and the other side lied their asses off and you lost. Quote

If Reagan was tea bagging every intern in the White House, I wouldn't have cared. And I don't care that JFK had girlfriends. I don't care about who they fock or what they're in to behind closes doors. You're a busybody yenta gossip hound. I couldn't care less about trivial shiot. Quote

As I stated to a degree that most kindergardeners would have understood, I DON'T CARE about tabloid crap. Does it matter that you don't "care about tabloid crap" when it comes to court cases? I think not. I'm pretty sure that judges don't make exceptions to the perjury laws of the land if: 1. Telling the truth would severely hurt your case. 2. Telling the truth would be embarrassing. You may want to consult with Worms on this, but I'm guessing even Matlock wouldn't back you on that one, Boo Boo. Quote

I'm just telling you that on a scale of 1-100, getting your cack sucked ranks about a 1 or a 2 as things I find important when deciding how good a President is. Even if you lie about it afterwards. I'd take the country being in the shape it was in back during his terms. Even if I knew he was face focking every opportunistic, stardom seeking hoor he could find. Got it, Hair Lip? Quote

Had it with your first post on the issue, Boo Boo. The problem is, after getting those insignificant BJ's Clinton went into court, under oath, and committed perjury to try to win a sexual harassment lawsuit against him. For that he was impeached, disbarred, and fined over $700K. The fact you have no problem with Clinton ignoring laws explains why you have no problem with Obama ignoring laws. Your scruples scale has no bearing on the facts, Boo Boo. Quote

drobeski Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 He also started the legislation that resulted in the housing bubble but no one wants to talk about that. Bruce Benedict Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 I love Bubba, but he was also recipient of one of the better 4 year economic stretches in our country's history which was the incline of the dot com bubble Cf.: Reagan, globalization Which is to say, for the most part, history remembers presidents based largely on the coincidence of their terms with the milestones of the inevitable march of humanity that made "failure" pretty much impossible. While the sh1tty ones are mostly remembered for being legitimately sh1tty. This is why Reagan and Bubba are lauded by their respective parties, while Wilson and W are justifiably held up as enemies of humanity. Quote
Bruce Benedict Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Just an aside, but I find it fascinating that the best-selling books on liberal politics and conservative politics both are always about liberals. Quote

The BBC in recent weeks sent 47 subpoenas to members of Trump’s family and Cabinet, as well as the Department of Justice and other federal agencies, seeking information about the president’s intent and state-of-mind before the speech. Recipients include Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, Steve Bannon, Stephen Miller and Michael Flynn.>>> Quote
