GreenTD 56 Posted May 22, 2013 Hope you have an IR designation. That sucks losing a player in dynasty formats before camp even begins.

GreenTD 56 Posted May 22, 2013 Aj jenkins will step the fock up. Ceabtree was overfockingrated anyways. I hope so. Took a flyer on him in my 1st dynasty draft as one of my last picks. Should atleast increase his practice reps this season & make him a possible starter in 2014.

stonewall 647 Posted May 23, 2013 This will make Kap more affordable. I think he has the skill set to succeed with or without Crab. Definitely boosts Boldin and VD, as well.
Voltaire 5,315 Posted May 23, 2013 A hit to both my dynasty league teams before the season begins, one of them also has Kap.

DrG 103 Posted May 26, 2013 Rookie Quinton Patton will be thrown into the mix early. Early on I expect more of a ground control effort. 9ers are also replacing delanie walker.
BobSanders_33 127 Posted May 26, 2013 I'm surprised that the 49ers haven't brought in Brandon Lloyd or Laurent Robinson for a look. Another possibility is making a trade for Nate Washington or maybe even Kenny Britt since he is a contract year and the Titan's might want to get something out of him before he walks. madd futher mucker 36 Posted May 26, 2013 My take on this - I've targeted and acquired LaMichael James (relatively cheaply) in two of my leagues. I can see the 9'ers carving out a Sproles role for him. And in one league, I just picked up Gore as well. Obviously Boldin is in play, and V Davis will have his role expanded. Vance McDonald could also surprise in 2 TE sets. I seriously doubt that a veteran will be brought in before the present WRs on that roster (Manningham, Jenkins, Patton, and Kyle Williams) are given a chance to step up. It just seems unlikely james will have much of an impact with all of the rb talent on that team. Hunter is a better back imo along with gore. I dont believe they spent a higher pick on lattimore for him to sit behind james. Now lattimore would have a different role than james, but injuries are going to have to pile up for him to be at all reliable for fantasy purposes.
madd futher mucker 36 Posted May 26, 2013 Let's agree to disagree. Here's my case for James: James is explosive. 4.6 ypc and 3 receptions in limited action last year. He didn't get to touch the football until week 14. Hunter coming off a torn Achilles and probably won't have the same explosion whenever he does get back. Lattimore won't likely play a role until 2014, assuming he ever does make it back to 100%. SF relies heavily on the similar read-option offense which was James bread-and-butter in college. Obviously, Crabtree's injury opens up more targets for the running backs and I expect James to operate from the slot quite frequently this year. It all adds up to a young, talented and very cheap lottery ticket. I've invested X 2.
Frozenbeernuts 2,259 Posted May 26, 2013 Ok i see where youre coming from. I dont remember hunter tearing his achilles which is a big part of the equation.
Matt Mueller 146 Posted May 26, 2013 Aside from VD I do think James gets a bump. Regarding the SF WRs they have Lockette too. A bunch of guys there. Part of the reason I took Geno over Patton. I think Kap has to get a slight downgrade too. I've heard a bunch of people saying he should be fine but over half Crabtree's yards were YAC and Boldin can't run after the catch like could. Cutlip 0 Posted May 31, 2013 Anyone have any faith in ricardo lockett?? Could he be a sleeper?? (TheHuddle)San Francisco 49ers WR Ricardo Lockette, who is roommates with QB Colin Kaepernick, could be an intriguing candidate to step up with WR Michael Crabtree injured. Lockette is 6-foot-2, 211 pounds and constantly is being tutored by Kaepernick since they live together. "He's one of the fastest guys on the team, and I've been trying to keep up with him," Kaepernick said of Lockette. Kaepernick has helped Lockette understand and simplify the team's playbook, and he impressed offensive coordinator Greg Roman last year while making impressive catches on the scout team. Lockette, a former track star, considers himself more of an outside receiver that can take advantage of his size and speed. "I'm sure there's things I can specifically name, but there's just something about him that I'm really fired up about," coach Jim Harbaugh said. "He's got something else to him, too, besides just the analytical size, strength, speed." Analysis: With Crabtree out, Mario Manningham still working his way back from an ACL injury, and A.J. Jenkins still unproven after a redshirt rookie season, Lockette has a definite opportunity to move into the 49ers receiver rotation. He's a sleeper to keep an eye on heading into training camp. Voltaire 5,315 Posted June 1, 2013 There's word that they may not put him on IR, but try to get him back after six months and maybe a playoff run ... six months would be week twelve. Since he'd probably be brought back slowly at first,I'm not sure that helps us in FF much.

Mike FF Today 723 Posted June 16, 2013 Read this: http://lowerextremityreview.com/article/return-to-football-after-achilles-tendon-rupture Good link. No doubt it's a bad injury for NFL'ers... we'll see if Crabtree can rebound from this but I'd be shocked if we saw him on the field this season in any significant way.
