I think the damage is done - the brand is tarnished not only by Americans, but Europeans as well. The day Trump took office Telsa stock closed at $354.40. Now it's $271.71 - down 23.3%.  Sales have tanked in spite of increased EV sales world wide. Investors are also nervous about Trump's tariffs on Canada and Mexico...  post-poned again or enacted in April.?.  Might not matter if no one is buying.

Beyond Elon alienating a ton of his buyers and a significant chunk of people who would be influenced by him think his product is “gay”, it’s that their cars are no longer by far the best in that category. Lots of options now IMO.

i'd speculate that the top two are likely anti-musk and fear of vandalism, but as we see with our limited population here at the gc, some would not buy tesla (nor other evs) due to limited range.

Anyway, I don’t think a deep dive is really necessary to figure out the fires and  violent protests at dealerships have played a role in Tesla’s stock drop. Maybe the highly educated cook thinks differently.

The GOP mocked EVs for years. Going to be hard to convince Republicans to start buying them now that Musk pissed off half his potential customer base. Tesla would probably remove him as CEO if he wasn’t the First Lady. Shareholders will probably end up suing him anyway.

Sales tanked because there was a revamp of the Model Y coming out. The release version is the only model available right now
