The Moz 71 Posted June 20, 2013 I tried re watching a few episodes from last season On demand last night -- and while people say it was better -- seriously the only thing better was the chick from chuck is/was focking smoking hawt! Other than that is basically sucked.

TD Ryan2 316 Posted June 20, 2013 tiki and Moz are winning this thread. Dexter was a terrific, original idea. Clever, well written, and original... "I love Halloween. The one time of year when everyone wears a mask... not just me. People think it's fun to pretend you're a monster. Me, I spend my life pretending I'm not." and then all sorts of "Luke, I am your father" outlandish, poorly thought out, unlikely, not-believable, just-plain-stupid plot "twists" roooned it. southcarolina 166 Posted June 21, 2013 In the books arent Astor and Cody portrayed as showing signs of having the Dark Passenger? Maybe the spinoff would be about them. Brotyher and sister serial killers. Im pretty sure i read someplace that in the books Rita's kids have a more prominent role. /beer.yum.

tikigods 76 Posted June 21, 2013 Spimoff Astor and Cody pick up the serial killer torch and Deb protects them. No way that is going to happen. Like I said earlier, Jennifer Carpenter wants out and into films to avoid typecasting. I see them doing a prequel type show, animated, with the backstory of how Dexter developed into a serial killer similar to the webisodes.

It could still be centered around the kids (maybe as teenagers/early 20's) without Deb. In the books they are both revealed to have the Dark Passenger, and Dexter even tries to bring Cody into the Harry Code.

Well, according to the producers or creator (can't remember which) they said it would be based off of Deb's character. They also said they would let the dust settle, after Dexter concludes, before starting anything.

The Moz 71 Posted June 21, 2013 When it comes down to it DExter w/o DExter - will suck! Michael Hall makes the show and without him it just won't work. He is a great TV drama actor being in 2 of the best series ever in Cable TV -- 6 feet under and DExter. But I can't see him going Hollywood I do look forward to his next series. MCH should have a lot of people wanting to sign him up as he has been in 2 series and both became huge hits.

phillybear 366 Posted June 24, 2013 I am finally caught up on the show, as of yesterday. What a weird series. First of all, the only possible conclusion to the series is that Deb kills Dexter on the table. Nothing else makes sense. The show started strong with the first 3 seasons. By far, the worst seasons were 4 and 5. What the fock? John Lithgow was mostly boring, his entire family was horrible, the episodes dragged along endlessly, and the finale was anticlimactic. The only good thing was getting rid of awful Rita. Then comes along frying pan face Julia Stiles in the season I want scrubbed from my brain like memories of a molestoring uncle. I really liked the imagery of the Colin Hanks season and the Fight Club twist. This past season spent too much time of the Hannah. I like the LaGuerta angle, but she needed to be knifed, by Deb, in the end. Does this mean we see less of Bautista? The whole Russian thing started out well, as did the Phantom, and both story lines fizzled out. The Hannah dad angle was over before it began. As was the Aster and Cody visit. And Louis. It was like they jammed 20 plot points in 12 episodes and never really let anything play out in due time; I guess Homeland is having that effect on many shows. So, Dexter needs to die, Deb knifes him on the table. The End.

Homeland > all other cable series (yes even GOT) also I think Dexter dying might be too obvious ............... then again they seem to lost all creativity in the show. so never mind. CantTouchThis 23 Posted June 27, 2013 Homeland > all other cable series (yes even GOT) Nooooooooo. Homeland is good, definitely better than Dexter, but BB and GOT are on another level. Carrie's constant crying makes it almost unwatchable at times.

The Moz 71 Posted July 1, 2013 Agreed one of the best Premiers the show has had. Great ending of the episode - you knew that she "knew" but it was great they didn't drag that fact out for several episodes they just went right to it. also any episode when Angel's sister is getting nailed
tikigods 76 Posted July 1, 2013 I'm just hoping the writers get this right. I'm going to be uber pissed if they fock this up. Prediction: spoiler alert Obviously the retired Captain knows something is up with Dexter. He must have some inclination that Laguerta's death is tied to Dexter/Deb since she was investigating them prior to her murder. He probably called in this lady and showed her the evidence. My guess is that she may actually be the one cutting out brains.

I have to say one thing -- after having maybe the best opening episode in the 8 years of Dexter -- they better focking back this up with a bang! and a season like Trinity to go out with. I think it ends with everyone thinking Dexter is dead but the final shot is Dexter an Hannah in Argentina.
tikigods 76 Posted July 1, 2013 Michael C. Hall said something a little strange last night in his premier interview. It was something like this just being the end of a chapter. I guess the whole idea of a spin off is probably going to happen.

OldMaid 2,135 Posted July 1, 2013 When has Dexter even in bad seasons been that obvious? Dexter may be a lot of things... but it's never been the kind of show where you DIDN'T see the twists coming. The only good one was when we found out Gellar wasn't alive. The rest have been fairly predictable, IMO.

BufordT 440 Posted July 22, 2013 This season has been fantastic to this point. Last night was Agree that this season has been excellent, BUT, the dark humor that made this show top notch is completely gone. It's almost like "Dexter" is using a "Homeland"ish formula this year. The Moz 71 Posted July 23, 2013 Maybe it was Harrison? Clearly Dexter will die and the spin off will have Deb but teaching Harrison "the code" Deb reportedly will NOT be in the spin off and I doubt it has anything to do with Dexter. I can see a spin off of maybe the chick from Chuck getting out and it being around her or something. The spinoff will have ties to Dexter I think but essentially have little to do with Dexter.
