Sooo, is Bowe a must start this week?

Recommended Posts

Torturing myself by looking at who I could've had instead of this bum (Desean, garçon and several others). Took him at 5.01...thankfully only have him in one league. That offense is so freaking conservative. Granted, they did have the lead the whole game and were never forced to push it downfield.

I understand your frustration, but Avery goes 7-141... so your statement is erroneous on both accounts.

Avery's yards had nothing to do with pushing the ball down the field.

I hope he gets it together but I get the feeling as long as the team is winning and he's collecting a super huge pay check he's not too worried about it. I would be a $60 million dollar decoy myself as long as they would allow me.

I guess the good news for me is I drafted Charles and then when Bowe was available during WR5 drafting time he was there (obviously for good reason) I figured I could get in on the WR1 action for the Chiefs too. I didn't know that drafting the Chiefs RB1 also granted me access to their best receiver as well.

As it stands I'll keep him on my bench but only so I have a quick painless decision to make when Percy Harvin returns (in hopefully week 7).

Maybe if they would move him around a little bit more in the offense and get him some time in the slot and Avery on the outside it would help free him up a little like Brandon Marshall, or maybe Dwayne Bowe is just an aberration of one good season and a few decent ones and should now be regarded as a known quantity here forward.

I'm just chuckling at the guy who offered Dwayne Bowe for T. Rich.

I can only assume that you didn't watch the game.

Well that was a crash and burn, but to me starting him was still the right thing to do given the situation. Its possible, just like what happened to Dez week 1, that the defense made a conscious effort to take him away, which could explain why Avery all of the sudden was Superman.

With 3 subpar games though, he's on my bench until he does something or someone else comes along where I can cut him.

I'm gonna try to trade him while his name still holds a little value (cuz his stats don't).

I went against my better judgement and started Bowe, because oh, Eagles D is so terrible. Every year I have that week where I don't listen to myself and follow the line, and it burns me. No more, no more thursday night starts (except for true Studs), and Bowe specifically will have a long sit on my bench. Couple more weeks without a blow up and he'll be on the WW.

I couldn't move him even after his decent game btw.

My fear of drafting Bowe was that Alex Smith was his QB. He does not throw down the field. A guy like Donnie Avery benefits more from the dink and dunk passer because of his speed and ability to get yards after the catch. As well as Charles. You saw this last night.

What does it matter if they were conservative or not? Avery was productive. That is my point.
