How many miles do you put on your car (s) per year?

Recommended Posts

I keep hearing these commercials for leases & they all quote 10,000 miles.

Seems pretty low. I'm not looking to lease nor buy. I'm just curious what you guys put on your car (average) per year?

For me: around 18,000

About 8000-9000

That will go up a bit next year with my son starting Middle School and dropping him off and picking him up will add some miles.

When I lived in Montana and Wyoming I put around 20,000 to 25,000 miles a year on my vehicles. But in houston I only put around 10,000 miles per year.

Roughly 9 on my car. 20 mile RT commute.

3-4 on wife's car, less than a 1 mile RT commute. We traded in her 15 year old Malibu last year and it had 48K and ran like a friggin race car. Someone got very lucky with that one.

I put about 25K, in sales with a company car so it's all just business mileage. My wife has a three year old land rover with about 10K miles on it.

On the weekends we usually just walk or ride bikes

Between 6,000-7,000. It helps that my job is literally a par 5 from my house

Around 15-18K per year. I have a bout a 35-40 minute daily commute one way to work. Good thing is that its all highway miles so those are easy on the car miles.

Probably about 12-15k between the wife's car and mine. Mostly chasing kids to sports. Early in our marriage we leased a car with a 10k limit. We always stayed under but we had to be careful about it. That ended up being dumb because we bought the car at the end of the lease anyway.

About 8 or 9k. Live pretty close to work as I absolutely hate long commutes. But I do like to drive if it's for longer trips to a neighboring city or further.

Not sure yet. My new job is 12 miles one way, but I'm averaging more than 1K per month this year. I think it may be due to my daughter learning to drive and us going on a lot of practice drives.

Both cars combined: About 25,000 a year. Maybe slightly less. Mom lives in Houston, Dad lives in Denver, we take vacactions...so it adds up. Plus, both daughters play volleyball, so we travel to tournaments and stuff during the year.

I drive about 32-35K which may explain why I just bought a Ford Focus after driving a big truck for the last 18 years. I would think that people in Texas drive quite a bit more than a lot of other places. When we were in CO I prolly drove 20K.

5 to 6K. Live close to work. Best produce/butcher is a quarter mile away, I walk there for most groceries. :dunno:

Today I drive 15k-18k. The most I ever drove in one year was 70k for work. I practically lived in my truck.
