Optimus Prime

Recommended Posts

Ok we seriously have to talk about Martavis Bryant. This guy is becoming a beast! He has scored 6 touchdowns in the last 4 games. I didn't see today's game but he started last week with the formation the Steelers lined up in. He is 6'4" 211lbs and has 4.40 speed. He has already surpassed Megatron's rookie TDs so that's why I called him Optimus Prime. My problems is who do I sit for him LOL. I have Dez, Nelson, Sanders, Elderman and Gordan hasn't even made it back!!!! Who's spot will he take on your roster? If you haven't picked him up yet, participate in the annual Purge Anarchy!

Calm down dude. He's money now but he was looking pretty bad up until that last garbage time eighty yard touchdown.

there's only one "Bryant" in this league worth popping this kind of ff boner over, and he doesn't play for the Steelers.

he's worth adding, yes, but no rosterbating....

rotoworld put it well:

Bryant was a rotational player once again, playing about half the snaps as expected. When the Steelers were forced to go back to their no-huddle, he was not on the field as the rookie does not know the offense well enough. But the day was saved in garbage time as Bryant outran a Jets secondary that had given up on the play for an 80-yard bomb. He'll be a boom-or-bust WR3 against the Titans in Week 11.

And Calvin Johnson never had a sh!tty game as a rookie or other years? Last time I checked, he has more TD's this year than CJ and who cares if he was hurt. If he can't stay health, take the Megatron name from him.

What makes Bryant hard to rank or judge is the fact that he put up big numbers in a blowout today. His other big numbers game in back to back games of 6 TD passes. We need to see what he does in 2-3-4 games where Big Ben throws for 275 and has 1-3 TD's. We know Antonio is the undisputed WR1 in Pitt, but we know WR2 on a team can have massive value. Can he be a WR2 like Cobb/Jeffery or is he going to be like T. Smith/Crabtree. Can he be consistent or inconsistent?

That's the beauty of this sport. You have to figure it that out before anyone else. Hence the buy low/sell high vs hold. Sometimes we're right, sometimes we're wrong. His value in dynasty leagues has really went up, but for redrafts, I'm not sure what he is worth right now? I think he's a WR3 going forward, but I wouldn't want to count on him.

Luck should be Optimus Prime. Optimus is a leader like a QB.

Now I wouldn't disagree on that! But like others are saying, he is a force to be reckoned with. Oh, that last game you were talking about, he had more yards than Antonio Brown and was the only one who scored during that "garbage time." He has been just as consistent as E. Sanders whom others dogged before the draft. Red Zone specialist, 4 plays King, One route runner, whatever you want to call him, Dude has scored in every game he has played in and sometimes multiple TD's. Name another player in NFL history that has done it. We are talking the first 4 games of their career.

BTW, here is the garbage time TD you are talking about. He blew pass the corner who back pedaled and that's all she wrote. Garbage time my azz.

I'm soooo happy I snagged this guy in my one league he was still available in, after his first game. Dude is a freak.

The thing I'm most impressed with is that he didn't dance around like an idiot after he scored. He understood the score board situation and jogged calmly back to the bench while accepting some low-key "attaboys" from coaches and teammates.

Great article on the front page Jason Mitchell. At least he agrees no one has ever put up numbers like him. No one means Calvin Johnson too LOL! This dude is Randy Moss again.

He is the perfect guy to play with a guy like Ben, who buys time in the pocket and extends plays. IMO there will be plenty of those opportunities in the weeks ahead.

Never thought I would hear a more horrible nickname than Megatron but I guess I was wrong.
